Fervor or Str Ages on Yi?

i've been using strength of the ages (i think thats what its called) [the 300 hp stacking mastery] on yi instead of fervor i never tried fervor on him yet, but it seems appealing my only problem with fervor and why i havent tried it yet is because it feels a lot safer to go with strength of the ages since i end up going tank after the 2nd item (bork or rageblade), it kinda fits in, and i don't feel as squishy during the early stages with the bonus health getting to the 2 item spike is like half of the game, and if your jungler is really squishy that late in, and is melee range, it's kinda easy to get fucked

also, the other reason i really like str of ages on scaling junglers is because of the masteries in the tree, it has a good amount of armor masteries, and a lifesteal increasing mastery or bonus HP (if rageblade), and is always so tempting to take over the dmg route with fervor

so aside from why i've been using str of ages, my question is: is fervor worth going, over the str of ages on yi? is it better to go for a giants belt or jaurim's fist between the devourer and 2nd dmg item?

For starters, Fervor is the most popular and highest winrate keystone on champion.gg.

Strength of Ages grants 300 hp when fully stacked. If you were to get this from items it would take two rubies costing about 800 gold. After that it applies a limited amount of sustain.

Fervor is a little harder to gauge because of the way it stacks and scales with level. The high end is 112 physical damage per attack at level 18 when fully stacked, which is like 2.5 B.F swords or about 3000 gold worth of raw AD, and given Master Yi's huge AS steroid as well as his passive doubling the on-hit effects of every 3rd auto he can make amazing use of that damage as well as get full fervor stacks in record time.

You don't spend the whole game at level 18, but you also don't spend the whole game with strength of ages fully stacked, and a fully stacked fervor hits the gold value of a fully stacked strength of ages at level 4, which is pretty early in the game.

But I actually think the best reason for Master Yi to go Fervor over Strength of Ages is that the resolve tree SUCKS for Master Yi from top to bottom. HP regen is a drop in the bucket next to his lifesteal and meditate, he doesn't build enough resistances for a multiplier to be valuable for him, tenacity isn't useful on him since any stun in the game will still be long enough for the enemy to blow him up, he simply has to play so the enemy can't hard cc him at all. Meanwhile ferocity has delicious lifesteal, attack speed, and double-edge sword; Cunning has assassin, more damage on low health targets to get those resets, and regen from kills to help you take those resets into multi-kills. Nothing in Resolve compares to any of those tools for a purely damage-focused champion like Master Yi.

Fervor. It adds so much more mixed damage into his kill potential that enemies can't itemize against it. You'll be doing Devourer / Potentially Rageblade for magic, his true damage from Wuju Style / Challenging Smite and Fervor / Autos / Passive for Physical. It adds A LOT of extra damage to him since he can stack it so quickly, allowing him to melt not only squishies, but tanks.
