I'm honestly about to quit playing ranked, I can't fucking stand this matchmaking.

At this point, Bronze 5 feels worse than Silver 4. I thought the higher rank you got, the better the players? I guess the only good players are the ones I have to go against. Like could I just for once have somebody on my team that has a positive winrate? I guess that if you're a good enough player you'll be able to overcome bad players on your team, but these games just feel like fucking 1v9s. This matchmaking makes me want to tear my hair out. Could I actually get teammates that are close to my skill level, for once?

be me. acquired the dreaded position of D 5. also be me. extremly competent top laner. i wont say im a god, but i can say that im quite good at surviving. also be me. never lost lane in D5 . . . be me. 5 junglers in a row that get so absolutely stomped they rage quit. IN A ROW.

another common factor you arent thinking of is the elo.

I love how stupid people look at end results of a game and dont look at the time line to see that the person was with zero deaths until >15m in the game when the feeders/trolls wont FF and laning is over and now stomp team fights are happening and that is when the player started to die.

In my uncarryable games I often win lane only to have the enemies Engorged lane come pay me a visit.

If you are Melee or the only melee on your team you will almost always also have more deaths then anyone else.

Your teammates are approximately as good as you. You're delusional if you honestly believe Riot somehow is specifically targeting you with "bad" teammates to prevent you from climbing. You are the problem and you are absolutely the reason you aren't climbing.

There has never been proof of this actually being a thing in matchmaking, only salty players like you wanting to put the blame on the system, instead of themselves.

Riot even confirmed in a post that this "match people on winstreaks with bad people" conspiracy theory is false, yet people still think it's factually correct, even though they have 0 evidence.

There has never been a proof that the system is ok. I dont know how's in other ELO brackets, but high silver the skill difference in matches are mind-boggling. From players that can't buy a pink ward or even use trinkets and pushing despite being constantly targeted and die, to players that ward deep enemy jungle in a game. From players that rush objectives to players that go for kill despite their turret-inhib is getting raped, all those in a single game. And this is just the macro, where you don't need reflexes so anybody can learn. I wont even get into micro.

I've faced enemies so good, they were a 2 classes over the majority and when asked them after, they're not even smurfing and they were better than me and were stuck here. I don't say i have to climb, but I just want balanced games, in which i can learn from my teammates and enemies alike and get better

"There has never been a proof that the system is ok". I don't even know what this means. My comment was focused on the conspiracy theory that has been circling boards for years, which goes something like:

"Whenever a player is on a winning streak, Riot will match them with worse players, to force a 50% winrate."

This conspiracy theory has become so widespread, even though proof of it being true has never been presented, and Riot has directly said that it is false.

If you don't like the matchmaking, or are having problems with it, that is a completely other issue. I play in somewhat high elo, and I'm not really having problems with it.

They are not. They're from far worse to better sometimes. This is just bullshit saying they are the same. Are they the same ELO as me? Sure. But in the current system elo is jack shit.

Also, nobody is targeted, it's just luck.

You do know that since like EVER matchmaker is designed to cripple your win-streaks even if that means putting someone few divisions above you against you and putting someone unskilled on your side?

It goes with the logic that 1+9 =10 just as 5+5=10. Math checks out, but only on paper cause that unskilled guy is like bonus enemy you have to watch out. I can already feel someone commenting on the lousy example ugh...

If you don't believe me (cause, honestly, why would you) then i am sorry but I don't keep the track of every similar thread (with evidence) about unfair matchmaker. All I can say matchmaker was really designed to slow you down on purpose.

EDIT: Better example.

Lets say average people on your level have value of 20. Each win you have increases your "worth". The team can be assembled by no more than 100 points. So going that your team might look like this:

a) 20, 20, 20, 20, 20

b) 10, 10, 10, 20, 70 (quite rare example that does happen, you can see it in cases when the best guy has some serious winstreaks)

c) 15, 35, 5, 20, 25

Guys that are below the average 20 are usually either seriously tilted or matchmaker decided to just add people from below your skill ladder.

That is just an example, please don't eat me alive. Overall that's +/- how MMR works. Summs up all MMR of all players and divides it by 5 and then tries to match it to MMR of enemy team. Something like that...

I can assure you that Gold-Platinum is so much worse than Bronze and Silver.Because in Gold/Plat,although players should know the basics of a team game they tend to to die 7 times in 10 minutes and then give up and grief.

The matchmaking also doesn't make sense.In every game there is that one guy that afk farms and refuses to group and try to win and usually denies his team any chances to win.

Every game is a complete stomp.Honestly,i do not remember when i last played a balanced game when both teams tried their best and had a fun game.Honestly i do not remember when was the last game in which noone gave 5 kills in 8 minutes of the game.For those guys often you lose MMR and get punished because a certain player decided that.

In my last game i lost as a top lane Jax with 22 kills.I was so fed that i could 1 vs 3.However,our Vayne decided that it would be a nice strategy to afk farm for 39 minutes at bot SOLO,ignore his team's pings and refuse to help his team to try and win.

In another game, our jungle WW was 0/3/0 at the first 20 minutes of the game when enemy's Sejuanii was 1/0/8.WW never ganked and was dying into enemy's jungle since level 2,making the laning phase a hell for everyone.

Sure i played also poorly in some games,but i at least know how to group when it's appropriate.

I can't express how disappointed i am when i get 0 rewards for having a nice performance.You get only poor teams in promos or afks destroyning games.

I climbed to Gold 1 and lost 3 games in which i had afk players and got demoted again.

Dont ever play ranked on the weekends....... Dropped 3 brackets because (top 1/12, Bot 22 deaths, Jungler afk farms no objectives no ganks, afker, afker, Smurf Duo......) You cant play ranked soloQ. Its WAY to risky with 4 others that riot seems to always put the shit players on my teams.

Also don't play ranked at night cause that's when everyone is drunk. Unless you don't drink or do drugs, then play at night while everyone else is at a disadvantage.

The ranked system is entirely too dependent on win rate and team play, as opposed to individual skill level. Don't play on the weekend, that shit is too real to be ignored.

I'm afraid to play my next game in ranked. I just got promoted yesterday to Silver III and I won my first game and got 18 LP. Then lost the next one and lost all that LP back to 0 because my Nasus top went 1/11 somehow. Then I played a game after that and have a 5/11 Syndra (0/7 in laning phase) and lost because she fed LeBlanc, who just proceeded to shit on our squishies. I'm afraid I'm just going to get another player who will proceed to feed incredibly hard and I won't be able to do anything about it, and make me derank.

Play champions that stomp or make plays early on. The game is decided in the first 5 minutes usually. Make plays and keep making them without relenting. The more you bamboozle the enemy the more disorganized and hopeless they get until they start saying "FF at 15".

Update, yep got demoted. 3/10 Quinn ADC (2nd time ever), 4/10 midlaner (AP Nunu mid), and kindred jungle with 9k mastery points who didn't even try to do Dragon once. Honestly might just uninstall league, I'm sick of this garbage matchmaking system in ranked.

ITS OK BABY. I went 1-16 in my first 17 rank games dis season cus someone in my team would always go 0-10 by 10min.

I was placed in p4. after trying hella hard, I got to plat 2 but then back to p4 hella quick. Rank is too frustrating so I just quit, at least for now. Im just roaming around the boards and s@20 to see when the meta gets better. I got to diamond season 6 and season 7 so Im not just another boosted monkey but hey, maybe i am. maybe Im just bad.

The key to ranked play is to have two accounts. op.gg everyone immediately and be prepared to dodge.

Matchmaking is complete trash in high plat/low diamond elo as well. It's a mix of boosted players, the ones actually trying to climb and the ones stuck in D5 that has just given up. This results in a massive skill difference and flamers every game.

You can still carry if you play better than the others though - leading to a winrate over 50% making you eventually climb.

You absolutely cannot consistently climb as an ADC for example (imo) even if you're a gold ranked player. You simply do not have enough map pressure/control to make up for your top/mid lane who gets shit on or the AFK jungler who is AFK farming.

If you wanna climb out of bronze/silver, you just gotta go someone like a Jax jungle, someone who is strong early on and who scales so you can carry those shit players. Otherwise, you gotta pray for them to not feed the enemy, snowballing the game out of your control in the process.

Play MonkeyKing He is so busted in low elo. No one expect you to burst them, just farm until you can burst down someone and do that over and over again. I see it every time there is one in my game. I can ping all i want, my bot lane isn't watching the minimap or warding. Next thing i hear is the monkey got a double kill.

I've been playing League since S2 and in S4 hit platinum and stayed hardstuck. Now here I am in s8 hardstuck between Gold 2 and Gold 1. Let me just tell you I lost all 10 of my promotion games played every game like shit and had a 39% win rate. At some point I wanted to just quit entirely like it's Riots matchmaking system thinking I'm the best. But when I have a 30 game difference between my wins and my losses I can't even blame Riot. Instead I buckled down did what I did in s4 and ONLY looked for my mistakes and brought my Win rate to about 45% win rate with only a 17 game difference in about a week of play. Let me just start off with:

  1. It's okay to be mad occasionally but at the end of the day League is really only a game.
  2. Your madness is a catalyst to your passion of the competitive aspects of LoL. (No one really tells you to try and tone down on how passionate you are about the game but sometimes it's the best way to control your emotions.)
  3. Learn how to not press enter when you are about to type something bad into the chat. (Starting of s8 I had a horrible habit of typing negative thoughts and bringing my teams morale down.)
  4. When you get hit with a losing streak know it's no one elses fault but yours. (Instead of focusing how your jungle didn't do crap for you or your mid lane goes 0/10 think about ways you could have prevented that from happening. Perhaps you know if a jungler is about to gank a lane. Ping them a Danger/Warning and let your team know.)
  5. If at any point you feel as if the enemy if better than you. They probably are, and how you handle the situation is super important. You can go either 2 ways.
    • You blame your team for your poor play and start blaming riot. (Don't worry I've been there but it won't fix anything
    • You go back and watch the replay and look for what the enemy team did better or what your opposing laner did better

Anyways this isn't a post to bash anyone that is struggling, it's a post to hopefully help the people who feel as if you will never be able to climb because of your team mates. (Which I'm not saying you don't have bad team mates I'm just saying focus on yourself. YOU be the change. )

Don't bother playing Ranked. It is a shit show and not worth anyones time in its current state. Just think of this, have you ever felt pride at doing well by playing ranked? I sure as fuck haven't, Get S every game and third party programs all say I am at a platinum minimum lvl(only meaning I rocked the game at my elo) and I still would have to play 500 games to get anywhere only to be reset lol. No thanks.

I am Voli otp with Plat on main-acc. I can assure you: Games will be a LOT easier in Plat than in Gold for example! At least for me as Jungle Tank.

It was always the same: Climping in Silver is ok, cause i could carry the games. But in Gold... boy... that is a pain in the a**! Because you cant carry anyomore THAT easy when enemy players can play a bit. In Platin the games feel WAY better and easier cause teammates know when they have to follow my engages or help me in jungle. Climbing in Plat is easier than climbing in gold imho.

Honestly, It never gets better. There will always be players that are smurf vs hard stuck, players popping off vs tilted players, it never ends. But look at the bright side, at least ranked isn't like normals where your silver top laner could end up facing a diamond player
