assassins shouldn't get tank stats, you're completely right.

Akali is SO HOT3 votes

Meanwhile Graves gets 120 Armor and MR (more than double what Akali's was)

people are complaining about Akali ?? seriously?

IcyPepper2 votes

No, they aren't. That paraphrased quote was from long ago when Akali was nerfed.

It's a Rengar complaint, using a previous Akali nerf as context.

No.

One of the many nerfs Akali has received was the removal of AR/MR from her shroud.

He's complaining about Rengar and trying to use Akali's nerf as a springboard to say that Rengar should be nerfed more and in a similar way.

Why does rengar need the free tank stats?

Nagoh Shan2 votes

He doesn't need free tank stats.

And he doesn't get free tank stats either. At least no more than tanks like Sion getting free damage stats with his E, Malphite getting free damage stats from his W, or Nautilus getting free damage from his passive and W.

It's part of the kit. That's why it's called power budget. Each champion gets a certain amount of effect as a part of their kit. Part of Rengar's kit is that he gets AR/MR from his W. If he didn't get that he'd get something else, and if mitigation effects are off limits it would be some more damage. So tell me.

Why does Rengar need more damage?

Implying 'power budget' is a real thing in League at this point.

Its an excuse to ignore relative power among champions. That's it.

Rengar should get slight damage nerfs, or at least a way to spread out his damage a bit more, on top of losing the tank stats, possibly increasing the heal instead. Fearing minions/monsters (only) would help mitigate the damage in jungle/lane instead of the AR/MR when doing what rengar does: damage.

Power budget is the comparison of relative available effect and influence a kit gives. Literally impossible to not exist unless there were no champions/abilities in the game.

Just because you disagree with distribution of stats doesn't mean that they don't carefully consider the strength of each effect in the kit, especially relative to other champions strength.

Also, lol that suggestion. Nerf his damage, nerf his mitigation, buff his heal, and give him a creep only CC?

It's obvious you hate Rengar but damn you aren't even trying to be slippery with this you just come straight out with a gutting. Funnier even, you say to nerf his damage while saying damage is what he does, while simultaneously saying to remove the thing that would allow him to actually have a chance if his damage were reduced/spread out over time.

I know he can take over a game, but I've never understood the irrational Rengar hate.

Okay, think of what a budget it. Its a way where 'spending' is limited and distributed according to that. That's implying there's a specific value every champion has, and it is distributed among their kit to give all of them a specific amount of impact that's relative to each other.

It does not exist in LoL. It is not maintained in LoL. Too many champions are blatantly stronger, not even considering kit, than others. You can say that they utilize power budgets, but they do not. Its something Riot only mentions as an excuse to nerf something. You can argue that its there, but there are far too many 'exceptions' to this budget for anyone to actually believe its there.

What you're suggesting is like saying "I'm on a diet so I can lose weight" and still eating fast food and Cheetos all day anyway.

He can deal damage without deleting someone in less than a second out of stealth. Sorry, that's not healthy for the game. Its not a hate for Rengar. Its that his current play pattern is not good for anyone except the one playing him. Since when has "I delete you or fail and die" been endorsed by Riot? They've always stated its a terrible pattern to be in a game, and they've been trying to change it since they started nerfing Talon back in the day.

The fact that Rengar can't even use the new assassin item effectively because HE KILLS THEM TOO QUICKLY only pushes my point further.

Like I said, that exists. You may not agree with how they distribute or spend the effects, but they do. It's one of the basic and fundamental tools of game design.

Back when Kayle could stun for, what was it, like 7s and the designers were just modders who where using their best guesses, I'd agree with you, but right now things are far too normalized and comparable.

Among the top 15 champions, maybe, which is not normalized and comparable. They do not use it as a tool, unfortunately. If they did, Graves would have gotten nerfs far quicker than what he's getting now.

Look at how fast they were looking to gut Skarner when he was simply viable after his first rounds of nerfs on the juggernaut patch. Yet Fiora, Graves, etc are okay?

Assassins who have no reliable escape need a way to survive. Look at Diana she is pretty tanky from a assassin with a big shield. With zhoynas she tower dive easily.

She also usually builds at least 2+ semi-tanky items, unlike many assassins, because her passive scaling is so absurd.
