Quinn QoL Buffs please!

To begin with, Quinn is in my opinion one of the most interesting and hard to play properly in the game. Many people prefer her in solo lanes, but I only play her bot lane because she is basically made to counter squishy Autoattackers. However, as much as I love playing her she is still not quite in par with other marksmen like Lucian , Tristana , Jinx or Draven . She also didn't get any significant changes when the marksman itemization got reworked. In my opinion some QoL changes or small buffs would actually be more than enough to make her strong.

  1. Make her AA a little bit more responsive. Pretty self explanatory.
  2. Skystrike should deal damage when used the moment she dies. Also, Skystrike should be castable immediately after Valor replaces her. Sometimes this small delay costs her a kill or results in a death.
  3. You should be rewarded to dive in a fight with Valor. She is a marksman (or markswoman?) with an ultimate which turns her into melee with a pretty big CD. I don't think it should only be used as an escape or for securing a kill on a fleeing enemy. Maybe add a small defensive buff to her ultimate or reduce CC duration (maybe a bit too much, balance team knows better).
  4. Make her mark opponents faster when not attacking something. Sometimes when pushing a turret and a minion wave arrives her passive doesn't mark a minion until you AA one.
  5. Finally, buff her late game a little bit. She falls off quite hard compared to other marksmen and sometimes fails to 1v1 even if she lands a blind. Maybe buffing how her passive scales or buff her blind duration.

That's all I wanted to point out. Sorry if the wall of text was boring. I hope my suggestions are not too much... What do you guys think? Does she really need any changes? How would any of my suggestions affect her solo laning? Maybe some changes you would like to suggest? One final question though. Is ghostblade good on her? I personally like it, but some people say it's a waste of gold on her. What do you think? @Morello @Ghostcrawler

quinn is a hard topic riot wants her to be the weirdo among the adc's and they will keep her that way she has some utility, some assasinating potential, some marksman potential, but overall her main problem is her kit being allover the place without any actual direction she has to work

she could be a great chaser or great kiter, maybe even a form changer, ranged caster or ranged fighter is also an option but atm everything is just allower the place

No problem I hope you enjoy playing her :)

Right. That's why I'm asking for some attention. I like her being a "weirdo" :p but she just lacks something. If my suggestions don't work them maybe some work to define her pros and cons and damn fix her AA. Especially on low attack speed it is really frustrating to lose a kill because the bolt takes too much to fire.

As for your point 2, Riot likes to keep a small buffer window before you can recast Skystrike in case the player accidentally double-presses the R key in a frenzy and ends up canceling Tag Team too soon. Other cancel-able abilities, like Lucian ult, have those buffer zones too - so this isn't without precedent.

For point 3, Quinn is supposed to Tag Team for roaming assassinations - that's why it lasts for 20 seconds. She's definitely not meant to teamfight with it, and cleaning up stragglers is sub-optimal.

I don't have much else to say on the other changes you suggest. Though, I do have to ask - which marksmen stand a chance against a lategame Quinn who lands her blind? Unless they're a hypercarry, I don't see them winning duels against an equally fed/farmed Quinn.

As for itemization, the BoRK/Ghostblade combo gives you great assassination potential. I would imagine that someone who's trying to maximize the power of Quinn's roaming ult would go for this. I've personally only done it on ARAM, but Trinity seems to synergize with Quinn's "passive>E>passive" really well. So I would imagine that Trinity emphasizes Quinn's ranged aspect because it demands frequent trades.

Marksmen like Lucian who depend on abilities as well as AAs destroy Quinn lategame. High damage autoattackers like Draven or Vayne can delete her once the blind wears off. Also, if they interrupt Vault before it lands they pretty much stall her enough to win (Draven's Stand Aside, Vayne's Condemn etc.)

Her teamfight potential is pretty low in both forms. I think she should be encouraged to dive in with Valor if not with some defensive stats maybe a reset on E or a short but BIG burst of speed on kill. It would add some diversity as well.

Clearly haven't seen a good Quinn then. Any Marksmen left alone with the same skill level as Quinn will die. She does not have to duel them if she deletes them in seconds. Supports are the main issues for Quinn, which is why she isn't played much bot.

Quinn is already strong. In late game, she can assasinate every champion easily. Just have item 3072 item 3087 and item 3031, you will be a monster.

BT and I.E. are terrible buys on her btw. BT used to be good because it was broken pre patch 4.10

I personally find crit chance to be really good on quinn. You deal soo much damage when you get a crit stike + harrier mark, you basically delete your target in seconds

It can be good I just remember someone confirming that crit isn't applied to harrier (I don't think sheen applies to it either?), I could be wrong though. I just always thought it was too much gold to invest in, like triforce. You get your power spike quicker which is why I prefer to build the likes of shiv and lw first.

yeah, im not entirely sure either, but you can still burst targets down super fast anyways. Plus, if you take someone down to half or less health in one or two shots, they'll probably back off, especially if you havent used your blind yet

I like her kit a lot, just more as a mid or top laner because of her ability to roam and assassinate. She seems like an average ADC, but it may be better to think of her like the others that have Marksman as a secondary role or aren't meta ADC's (Teemo, Kennen, Azir....I don't want to say Urgot because he really isn't played in any capacity)

  1. I agree but most people have gotten used to it (insert Riot's care factor for Quinn here)
  2. Also agree doesn't make much sense for it not to automatically go off seeing as it's not a form shift but a partner shift.
  3. No, it does not need any defensive properties, what it should do is it should break free from slows (maybe stuns?) as soon as she ults. She's an Assassin and we know how problematic defensive Assassins have been in the past (I.E Kha'zix). A big misconception too is that she is a marksmen? Not really if you want to utilize her kit she's basically a ranged Assassin that can abuse solo lanes greatly. A Marksmen is a champion that will deal CONSISTENT damage, she does not deal damage per second (DPS), she bursts targets down in seconds and is very good at that if you build her right. She is, however an ADC (Attack Damage Carry).
  4. Harrier is a hard ability to even talk about. I like it the way it is however.
  5. Wrong, she does not fall off late game. You obviously don't play her and/or don't build her correctly if you think that. Late game she deletes any carry in seconds.

I understand that if Riot buff her even the wrong way she'll destroy top. What's not okay though is knowing she has bugs and choosing to ignore them. A real kick to the nuts for us Quinn mains. Even when they did "bug fixes" to her E and passive they still glitch out so I don't know what to believe from Riot anymore. I'd also like them not to even consider her awesome kit for a rework as some of us actually like her hybrid Assassin play style, take that away Riot and I officially quit.

Finally, QoL buffs are most welcome and I look forward to them in the future when Riot finally decides to stop riding Lucian's d*ck. :)

You seem to be way more experienced with Quinn than I am. Although I often do well with her sometimes I just fail miserably. I wish I could observe your play pattern and build paths, but you playing on OCE makes it rather impossible... Btw I like Lucian as he is now, after the range nerf and the mobility overload.

Main since her release :) I thought Riot was crazy when they buffed, I got a penta pre buffs in ranked. I can give you a few tips; avoid playing her bot lane. I believe playing her as a generic ADC is not the way to go. When people play with me they say I wait for a good opportunity to take out squishy targets (Assassin). I mainly play her top but mid is also good, double AD comps can still work. I run armor pen reds and quints btw, Quinn scales extremely well with them. The most successful Quinns will priortize armor pen/ burst over crit. I think I.E. and Ghostblade are over kill on her, a diamond main called whatthemoose agrees with me.

Start your normal dorans and potion (unless you're against the likes of a Pantheon in which case you should consider flask + 3 potions or cloth + 5 potions to survive the lane phase) I usually rush a brutilizer, it's a huge power spike in lane, then build cutlass > BOTRK > Boots (I still usually get Zerks for the AS, depends on lane) > Shiv or LW first depending on how the game is going, then finish it with a GA or Banshees.

Everyone has a difference of opinion of Quinn but like I said the most successful Quinn players build her and play her like a ranged Assassin (which she is if you look at her kit.) Lucian IMO is just stupid broken, passive needs some sort of nerf to be balanced.

Here is whatthemoose's guide, he's very helpful and insightful for new Quinn players, he also does youtube vids on her. Click me
