Crit is an obvious game mechanic oversight and should be removed

I feel like in a game all about strategy and mechanics and damage calculations critical strike is an obvious flaw in game design and should be removed. And what's the deal with IE? It's the only item in the game that buffs crit and it's totally absurd and is a must have for most AD builds. I feel this item is solely responsible for the AD item pool being as linear as it is. It's time for IE to roll out and some new creative ideas for AD items to roll in.

PS: For fucks sake please bring back executioners calling.

Crit is such a strange thing.

Critting someone feel great, because dealing large amounts of damage feels great. But the same feeling can come from any source of burst damage (another ability, for example). To replace this aspect of crit, several champion kits or items would need to be changed to provide a similar burst damage experience.

Crit has been argued as a "come back mechanic", but due to it's psudo random nature, is it a good comeback mechanic? If come back mechanics are needed in the game, why don't they exist for mages or tanks? Why have the come back mechanic originate from the player at all, why not have it be a neutural monster that attacks?

I don't think crit is a good thing for the game, but I wonder how hard it would be to remove it at this point.

But if crit is taken out how will I cheese overconfident Riven players as Tryndamere? =(

Ya, I don't mind crits when its at higher chance values since the element of chance is significantly less, the more chance the closer you are at getting a value thats closer and closer what your paying for/actual DMG aka flat damage. And there is also RNG which keeps it pretty reliable at higher levels of crit chance. The issue is when you have say 15% crit on say talon, zed, riven and they get lucky and deletes enemy adc b4 they have time to react. Gives them damage that isn't realistic by compressing damage into a short window.

no need to outright get rid of crit. Important thing is crossing the threshold where you can get damage levels that isn't indicative of your supposed output.
