So mana pots were removed because they made some champions too strong...
Then why are there new starting items that are tailored to the needs of certain champions?
Then why are there new starting items that are tailored to the needs of certain champions?
So I feel like you grievously are misquoting something.
On why mana pots were removed:
Our decision to remove mana pots goes along the same philosophy as starting items. 100 mana tends to benefit certain types of champions over others
On the items:
We’re taking a different approach this preseason by offering more clear opening ‘paths’ so that players can refine their playstyles with real choices
My point is: isn't it sort of counterproductive to remove an item that benefits some champions more than others, only to replace it with more items that benefit certain champions more than others? Their reason for removing mana pots is the same reason for adding in new starting items. Doesn't make much sense.
What they were saying is some champs get a benefit from it while others don't. This is in relation to the mana costs of said champs not that it is making them op, but that other champs are weaker by not being able to benefit from mana pots. A champ that would not benefit very much from mana pots like lux only gains 100 mana which is not even worth 1 spell while for something with cheaper mana costs can cast much more spells with the same 100 mana. The reason they are removing mana potions is not to make certain champs weaker but to make it so they can adjust other champions mana costs. Any champ that would become weaker (according to them) from the removal of mana pots will get compensatory buffs. This is why context is important, if you don't read or understand the context then you make false assumptions.
it's going to be impossible to bully flask laners. As if it wasn't hard enough.
ZING!
what? I need mana pots! All the champs i use are on mana
