Is dominion even fun?
I've often wanted to try playing it because it reminds me of Domination in a way but I've never taken the chance to play it. I would like some insights please

Mostly overrun by bots now, certain champs fare much better on it than others as well. Usually too easy due to the insane number of bots.
I treat Dominion as some people treat ARAM: as a "relaxation" mode. Like ARAM, you start at level three, and with more gold. Because you are trying mostly for kills and holding on to the five capture points around the map, the feel is very, very different than Summoner's Rift (the mode does not even keep track of CS). I have had a lot of fun on the map for precisely that reason. I prefer Dominion to ARAM for "break" games because you can actually choose what champion you play, and victory is not decided by what champions your team randomly got.
Dominion is a lot of fun, just so long as you do PvP. The vs AI mode is FULL of bots.
It's a very different game from Summoner's Rift. You can't play it the same way and expect to do well. But it's basically ganks, teamfights, and small skirmishes all game long. If that's your thing, you'll probably like it. However, at entry MMR, there are probably a lot of people don't know what they're doing, so beware.
Yeah, it's fun. Everyone has roughly the same amount of gold and it's kind of a tower defense. A lot of skirmishing and team fighting.
