Just a question about solo and ranked....

I have been playing since about October of this year and was patiently waiting to make level 30 to try solo play. But now i see that it says that I must own 20 champions. Did it always say that or does that only pop up once you get to level 30 ? Just wondering if there are any other conditions to play solo that I am unaware of ?

In order to play ranked games, you must own a minimum of 20 champions (this excludes the free rotation champs you receive each week). This is so that you have a decent amount of available champs to play in case they get banned. This pops up at level 30 because that is when you are able to start playing ranked games.
