New Season, New Meta, and New Attitudes

Since there are so many changes in this season why not make some other changes in the way we think when it comes to Laning. Let me make a point here before you start thinking I'm wacky. I mained support all last season, and the ADC gets all the gold, kills, and all the glory....I mean when was the last time anyone thanked the support for turning a game or saving a teammate???? I propose a change in the "don't take my cs" attitude that 90% of adc's have...let's face it as a support you are already getting less gold by a trink that makes sure you don't get too much. Plus you need to buy a sightstone ASAP so your lane doesnt get ganked or so you can see that pesky Thresh/Blitz/Morg in the bush. Not to mention your kit is expensive too, and your adc is complaining you need more AP(damage, etc). So please can we not be so greedy this season ADC's????

Also another thing I want to mention is when a game starts to go downhill or snowball DON'T take your junglers farm. They may have had issues with enemy stealig thier farm and now they don't need you trying to make matters worse by you claiming "you need that buff" or taking their farm which is less gold and experience than your lane farm.

To end this discussion I also wanted to add that with a new season let't try to be more positive in our gameplay...let's be nice instead of nit picky and praise our fellow Leaguers when they make a good or great play regardless of what role they are in....NO more "KS" crap talk ...it is a TEAM game after all with the objective to win the game for your team.

Thank you for reading this, and let's keep it positive this season.

ADCs taking all the CS isn't greed, it's what they're supposed to do. You have gold gen items for a reason, and if you want to last hit so bad then buy a targons. Point is a Sona with 30 CS won't do as much as a Vayne with 200 CS lategame. Unless your ADC is legitimately terrible, don't take CS then expect to not get raged at.

Agree wholeheartedly with everything except for your 1st point.

There's a specific reason and science behind why the support generally doesn't take any last hits and that is to ensure that his fellow laner is getting stronger over time, while you pick a champion that doesn't necessarily need the extra EXP and gold for they're kit to work properly.

If you're playing Janna and feel the need to constantly be on the creep line than you may need to rethink what lane is most appropriate for you, because you're not helping ANYBODY on your team when you do that.

Agreed with the jungler part. I'm not a jungler but I've seen them fall behind really hard

Konidias1/14/2015, 8:50:51 PM5 votes

So ADC should be at a gold disadvantage to the enemy ADC, and then on top of that, they shouldn't take any jungle farm to compensate...

So essentially you want your ADC to have no impact in your games.

NICE TRY, SUPPORT MAIN. NICE TRY.

Agreed, whenever i support and we get a double kill its always "Gj Lucian" or "Gj Cait", never "Gj Jinx and Nami" never even "Gj Bot" and yet when we lose lane its always "Noob Nami missed a bubble gg report plz"... So i take all the blame for a bad engage, which im already feeling down about, but you get all the glory when i set up a double for you?

Give credit to the Support, they are the real play-makers.

{quoted} I mean when was the last time anyone thanked the support for turning a game or saving a teammate????

It's not season 3. People started appreciating supports a long time ago.

If you main support and you complain about not getting CS, you need to not play support. The entire point of playing support is to support your teammate. That's both the job description and the job title. If you can't understand that, main Top or something.

As a support main, I accept the fact that the only people who are going to appreciate my contributions are going to be good teammates. That's how it is with every role, but especially with supports. But I'll be content in knowing that I saved my ADC from that gank, or that I set up that triple kill, or that my wards allowed us to steal dragon. That's the support mindset. It's great to be recognized, but if you just want to have your team jerk you off, pick a carry. That's what they do: Get the kills and get the ladies. Or men-folk, if you swing that way.

This guy honestly sounds like the worst support main.

He wants to take CS, take kills, and doesn't want the ADC to do anything.

KS matters when you're the support constantly last hitting an enemy champ and taking valuable gold away from the ADC.

Maybe if you actually learn what a support is supposed to do, you can get out of Bronze V. (yes, that is OP's rank, I'm not insulting him)

idk, as a support I've never encountered the "not thanked" issue. I mean, I have been not thanked for stuff before, but a lot of times I do get thanked and noticed. The times I am ignored however or when someone receives all the credit for my play I simply type something like "please, it was all me" or "WOW, adc gets all the credit" and they usually say something like "Gj Janna

As an ADC, I always try to remember to honor my support at the end of a game. Also, I try to thank them after they made a play which netted something good for me, or peeled to let me survive. Support, you are the real MVP and nobody knows it better than I do.

However, please, PLEASE don't grab my CS or KS on me. I understand that ending the game 2-7-38 is not as glamorous as 31-1-3, but there's a reason my role is called the carry. I need all the gold I can in order to achieve full carry potential, and I can't do that when you're getting the kills and CS.

In short, I love you, support mains. But please let me get farm and kills. KogMaw I'm hungry!

Only if you like losing. Gold concentration is highly desirable.

To end this discussion I also wanted to add that with a new season let't try to be more positive in our gameplay

It's a wise idea. Probably won't be implemented my most players.

Konidias1/14/2015, 10:12:49 PM1 votes

Also the amount of CS you get as support should range between 15-35 per game. That's a healthy amount to end with as support. (go look at top support player's stats)

OP has between 35-70 CS average on his support champs. I mean what the heck.

The problem is he has zero faith in his ADC, and thinks he needs to farm and get "big" so he can carry as support. When in reality, he's probably the reason his team loses so much.

OP, go look at someone like Aphromoo's ranked stats and then take a peek at your own. Notice the difference? His Sona has a near 58% win ratio and he averages roughly 34 cs per game. Your Sona has a near 35% win ratio and averages roughly 54 cs per game. So guess what... you need to stop taking cs.

Konidias1/14/2015, 10:57:19 PM1 votes

Even with pushing waves, we're talking a few CS here or there in specific situations. Not sharing CS throughout laning phase as OP seems to want.

The proof is in his scores. Support taking farm just doesn't work.

Instead, you're playing support like a leech. Sucking the XP/Gold from your ADC and doing the EXACT opposite of supporting him.

You have to treat Support and ADC like ONE role combined. ADC does the farming, Support does the zoning and warding. ADC gets the kills. Support does the CC which leads to the kills. You are two halves of one whole.

When Support starts taking CS, you are now just separating the halves... So instead of one strong player you get two weaker ones.

Early game poaching is something I almost never see at my elo since the jungler normally starts bottom of the map anyway.

A post suggesting supports should farm in bot lane gets 16 upvotes... as funny as it is... I'm really starting to hate this forum.
