Matchmaking Confusion

I've been noticing my teammates making questionable decisions as of late, so I found a website that allows me look players up and see their rank and some account details. So it turns out that when I'm not in ranked I get matched up with a lot of bronze and silver players. I'm a gold four, could it be that playing with my friend who is account level 30 but unranked has been causing this? How can I get matched with players within my own ranking? It's kind of disappointing winning lane every game and watching one or two (sometimes three or four) players hold us back. It's not even fun winning lane when I look the person up and they're are unranked. What can I do to remedy this?
