ARURF: Missing the Point
ARURF is not fun. But instead of just saying that, I'm going to elaborate.
The reasoning behind ARURF is so flawed it boggles the mind. The idea that Riot needs to balance a mode like URF is ridiculous and shows a fundamental misunderstanding of what the fanbase wants and enjoys. The main appeal of URF was picking your favorite champion and going to town. If you lost, you lost. If you won, you won. Nobody cared, it was URF. Everyone had the exact same chances of winning and everyone was having fun. But trying to bring order and balance to a gamemode where the main appeal is that_ there is none_ is simply ludicrous. I just played a game against Fiora as Illaoi. If I had picked one the champions I actually liked to play, I would have had fun even if I was getting pummeled. But no, the loss was a thoroughly gross experience. Stuck in a mode you don't like with a champion you don't like playing, versus a champion you don't like playing against. Looking at the other threads as of late, it appears I'm not the only one upset with Riot's choice to get rid of URF. It doesn't help that a major appeal of having the Rotating Queue was that we could play URF every month or so, but even that was a false hope since it was around for a week and then gone for 6 months.
