Riven or Fiora?

I am looking for a replacement bruiser/fighter champion to main for top lane. I'd usually would use Irelia but her Defiant Dance changes are not gonna cut it (you can pick any magic dmg oriented tank or bruiser and steam roll her now.) These two are the ones I have in mind and I already have 2 other picks, just need one with a focus more towards dmg.

Riven is a better champion overall in this meta where you need to carry.

If you're focusing more towards damage and the bruiser fighter play style, go for fiora. She's more reliable in that regard but she has less team fight presence. Riven is a lot more versatile and stronger in the current meta, so if you're willing to invest the time, she would be better in the long term. You can always buy the other later. I bought riven before fiora but i love them both.

if you're mechanically gifted, play Fiora ; if you're mechanically a god, play Riven

Or, if you're open to a 3rd option, play Kled

Fiora goes in and out of meta, not reliable enough imho, though you don't need to 1trick her to do well enough on her, 1tricking on her DOES pay off, just not in every meta

Riven pays off in every meta, so... go watch those 14 hour long tutorials

alternatively

Irelia is still good, she requires less skill to win with than riven but more than fiora on her baseline, she also has a rather high ceiling

Jayce is literally the only champion that can keep me interested, he has elements of bruiser, mage and adc in his kit, a really high ceiling and a pretty laughably low floor. If you can learn your basic QE combo you can do... ok... on jayce, if you can learn his kit, his item choices including the off meta stuff that works (Such as his unique interactions with crit, his power with sheen+tanky items, or even his power with klepto, grasp, aftershock, conqueror), you'll wind up with a duelist who can fight those otp rivens/fioras but who arguably has a larger item pool to choose from... but that's like autistic levels of devotion required...

that's the thing, can you stick to a champ long enough to play riven? if so then play riven and fuck your mmr until you're where you need to be, if not, grab fiora who's a great pocket pick type champ.

Also if you just want to BM people then play summoner 6 summoner 3 item 3142 item 3009 item 3031 item 3031 item 3031 item 3508 (cdr) Garen and pretend like he takes immense mastery as you E someone to death
