Did Anybody Else Turn Off Emotes The Moment They Were Released?

Was I the only one?

I just feel like it's a bit hypocritical on Riot's part when they released them, because you're not allowed to say "fuck you" in chat or you get punished for it, but don't worry, you can say "fuck you" through emotes now, and it's perfectly fine. I get that some emotes are meant to "express how you feel" but lets be honest, people only use them irritate other players, and some emotes are just outright metaphorical middle fingers to anybody who see's them.

These are just biggest culprits of emotes that are outright meant to be insulting and to tilt players.

Sure you can argue that Riot made them with well intentions, but League has the title of "Most Toxic Gaming Community" for years now, and Riot damn well knows that. So, knowing you have a toxic community, and still releasing things like this, is just unforgiveable.

It's not what they say, but the message they send. For example, you can hello, and it means hello, but depending on how you say it can change the entire message. If you say it sharp and quick, you're basically telling the person you don't care about them and/or they're a waste of your time.

Just going over the ones I presented

The Ashe emote is clearly sending the message that, especially when somebody spams it after getting a kill on you, that your play was at best laughable, which is still insulting, and that your attempts at anything are "cute."

The Leona emote clearly shows off your own contempt and disapproval at what somebody, whether they be on the enemy or your own team, just did. I only ever see this emote used when somebody misses a skill shot or kill and their ally wants to insult them. Before you say "I thought you turned emotes off" I did, I just watch a lot of League gameplay videos from other League players.

The Zed emote is just another way of sending the exact same message the Ashe emote sends.

Finally, the Lee emote outright shows your own anger at what somebody just did.

Even if I didn't tell you what I'm pretty 90% of the people who play this game already knew when seeing these emotes, what the fuck do you think they mean? I'm genuinely excited to see what you say.

They're a lot more easy to congest and take rather than having being told "Get shit on" or "Fuck you" or "Git gud". Yea, these emotes are rather funny and a way to pass on your massage without being a total jackass as far as shit talking goes. I'd very much rather use emotes than type shit to other players.

You'd be surprised how many people don't actually get offended or attacked by these "emotes" as they're just a way to communicate anything in the friendliest way.
