I mean a tank main with a negative winrate in silver making a new mastery which gives tanks a 2000 hp shield in teamfights (CoC) probably is really fit to make balance decisions in this game.

The only times I've seen it actually come in handy are people forgetting about its existence during laning phase and towerdiving a tank who has it only to get turned on and killed because the shield gave them just enough survivability. In actual teamfights if you're being focused that means that the enemy team is doing something wrong or your team is way too far back and you're going to die anyway, now it'll just take a couple seconds longer.

But you brought up a good point. Back in the season 6 preseason fervor could be stacked by hitting minions (and warlords broke Yasuo and Tryndamere). The masteries then got nerfed.
Now that it's the preseason again, we're going to get a bunch of shit that is going to be stupid at first. That's pretty much intended in a preseason. It's when a bunch of new things are added in and are balanced out as it goes on.
If this was the second week or something, you might have a good argument. But it's the second day so maybe you should just wait and see how it turns out after healthily expressing your constructive opinion.
Demanding for a Rioter to be fired based on something they added in the preseason isn't a constructive opinion.

Nothing against him personally but if you are chilling in silver with a negative winrate after 300 ranked games you are not good at the game and you shouldn't make balance decisions for players who play the game at a much higher level.

I've heard several Rioters say they're silver. You want them fired too? You don't have to be able to play the game brilliantly to design it. I did not tend to win my big space conquest boardgame despite being the sole designer. Remember that Riot employees have access to data... tons of it. That's how they playbalance things; not by feeling it ingame.

Sohleks2 votesTank masteries haven't been that great. Tank ITEMS are overpowered (hence why you saw even assassin champs going iceborn/sunfire last season and a whole slew of other phases)
They have said recently they want to get tank items in a "healthier" place. And getting some their masteries up that work best for tanks is a step in the right direction.
yada yada talk; Also saying tank items are overpowered is oversimplification. I think they just spike too hard in certain times and ways. It's because we actually finally nerfed % pen to the point they are actual tradeoffs start of season 6. And that's why tanks were crazy first part of season 6. And then they knee jerk nerfed the resolve tree. But that wasn't the problem. So (imo) while it's a classic thing the game has that tanks are powerful mid game and (tbh) get dominated late game by carries I think this needs to be spread out a teensy bit. While doing that though the one class you gotta be mindful of is the bruisers who generally like some tank items and some damage items.
