What's up with Placements lately?

I won 6 out of my 10 matches doing fairly well in most of them, and I get place in Bronze 5 with 0 lp

The season Prior I fed my ass off only winning 2 placements and I got placed in Bronze 3

A few other friends who were good at the game and won a fair amount of there Promos also got placed around the same spot as me.

May I please get an explanation?

Placement matches arent a lottery ticket drawing in order for people to instantly rank up to be challanger. They're meant for a soft reset of the ranked ladder in order to bring all the players back down a step, so if you were bronze 5 last season and you went 5/5 in your placements it doesnt matter how well you did. You will be placed in bronze.
