Lord Dusteon2 votesThe main purpose of the Doran's items are to be cost efficient items anyone can pick up if needed (Blade gives some health, sustain, and damage, Ring gives health, mana sustain, and damage, and Shield gives health, sustain, and defence). Giving the general Doran's items even more niche stats seems rather counterproductive.

Flask, Boots, Doran's Shield, Ruby Crystal. Flask is an absolute great start if you use mana, Boots are good vs most APs (give you movespeed to dodge their abilities; what can't hit you can't hurt you), Doran's Shield is great vs any single target type mage/AP (The passive works on spells, so champions like Ryze or such who rely on single target spells lose a lot of damage), and Crystal is good if you scale on health or have enough base sustain that the extra health is worth. Having a dedicated "fuck you" item for APs in lane isn't a great solution to "APs are common in toplane".

I suppose numbers can be tweaked. I was also thinking that stacking could only be available for melee only.

Buy two and sunfire cape will actually start healing you.
It's an unnecessary item though as Riot stealth buffed Doran shield a few patches back against magic damage.
