Main support , Hardly ever buy redemption

Peel for my ADC··9 votes·6,840 views

Never really have been a big fan of this item , it gives little personal stat benefit and would much rather buy Ardent into Athenes than a defensive item into my controls wards . The only time I actually buy redemption I’ll be playing a tank against a very heavy one sided comp Ad/Ap for my 3rd item . I don’t know just never really been that much of a fan of it and it’s kind of a shame lol

Same. I find the delay to be quite deadly in a fight where time to kill is now under half a second. Never mind when your own team flashes out of your Redemption.

Someone must be facing a lot of teams where they only have AD or AP so you can tank up one dmg type to last half a second. lol

Well Zed actually kills in about 0.25, but it takes another quarter second for your champ to realize that they're actually dead because it was just so damn fast.

You're supposed to cast it as the fight starts, when you wait til someone needs healing you lock them in a confusing situation that often gets them killed.

In fact, almost every complaint I'm seeing here seems tied to casting it later rather than sooner.

If you can guess 2.5 seconds when and where your heal with be needed kudos to you. The best use for Redemption seems to be as a post fight team heal where you don't have to worry about Zed/Yi/Fizz deleting someone in under half a second.

you don't even have to be that accurate with it, it's a huge area. A lot of times all it does is make people decide that going in isn't worth it, which saves a teammate's life.

I literally just watched a gold rank player walk out of his ally's Redemption for no reason. If an item requires Plat+ levels of teamwork to use, it's a pretty awful item.

Marshbouy1 votes

Fun fact, not everyone is so bad at the game that they walk out of redemtion's range every single time. Also, fun fact, people will do that in plat+ too.

It's not an awful item. It's probably one of, if not the best, support item.

redemption is one of those items that are better in an organized environment than in one where 5 people that have no idea how to work together beyond "group up and pray"... it also doesn't help that it has gotten nerf after nerf

It needs more damage and juuust a little more heal. And if rito is feeling really nice maybe it could take a millisecond less too go off?? [sg-ezreal]

Redemption is trash because damage is too high for it to function. The teamfight is over before it goes off because everyone just gets killed by a 0.1 sec burst, and even if it were to heal someone, they'd get one shot regardless of the heal.

Its best use currently is to combine with Rylai's Crystal Scepter and drop it on the enemy's escape route while chasing so they get slowed and your team catches them. This is because of how ridiculous damage is.

this might be one of the bronze-est comments I've ever seen

i don't care if I get banned for toxicity again

Locket of Iron Solari is clutch on the other hand.

It just seems one of those weak but with OP actives kind of Support item, that simply makes you feel like a walking bag of active items. Their impact is huge, but they make your champion less satisfying to play from my perspective.

Handy Sandy 2 votes

it's strong if you can time it right. if you don't know how to, then it still has use when sieging inhib turrets and objectives.

I rush it lmao, IDC about personal benefits when I support. I'm all about protecting my ADC. Multiple times I have found myself watching my ADC's health instead of my own. Idk HOW people can mage support. Even Morgana isn't a real support in my book

I actually almost always buy item 3107 first. It allows to help people from a relatively far distance. And it serves as AOE heal. And I actually buy item 3504 the last support item, as it is single person oriented item that can be used ineffectively.

I build it on Sona and Soraka, that's it.

I play a lot of support, mostly Braum and Nami. I really like Redemption and rush it on Braum and second item for Nami. IMO the heal is extremely useful, especially coupled with Locket, the peel potential with those two are so nice, and can help teammates far away as well.

Fights end before you can decide to use it and wait for it's windup. By the time you have it engagments start and end on a dime so theres no point in having it.

I usually buy it as the last item if i don't have anything else i need to buy

Sukishoo1 votes

I used to buy it more often but yeah, less and less anymore.

Redemption is literally team fight winning wtf guys. It's also the only way for a lot of enchanter supports to make plays or force fights, plus you can assist teammates cross-map. I build it almost every game I play an enchanter and even on shit like thresh it's bought very consistently.

Just because you don't know how to use it doesn't make it a bad item.

edit: as a support main this thread is driving me up a wall, holy hell.

Disclaimer: I only enjoy mage and enchanter supports. On its ownitem 3107 feels rather weak, given that it brings no AP whatsoever to enhance my pokes or shields. The active effect is good but not worth the gold with those stats... However, if you built a item 3174 first item item 3107 is worth 30 AP from all that mana regen. With 30 AP tacked on it's quite good. It's too bad Grail is itself pretty situational. If only there was a similar item that gave armor instead of MR...

Redemption is an anti aoe dmg item wich it outplays them
