Who do you think is pykes best ADC to pair with and what is his easiest support matchup ?

Peel for my ADC·4/5/2019, 1:01:57 PM·3 votes·7,261 views

Sivir Tristana Lucian I think these are probaly the best 3 because of the safety in lane that opens up the ability to roam a little more than if you had an immobile AD . Vayne Caitlyn and as far as in lane goes , I'm going to say these 2 are also very strong , if you can combo pykes stun with a condemn or a trap .

The support matchup is really skill dependent on the player in my opinion , I think alot of people think he's overpowered but in my opinion it really just comes down to the players skill level with him . I would say in General it might not be the support matchup that matters so much but more less the mobility level of the ADC he's laning against.

Role of thumb that All in beats sustain if executed properly but the lane matchup win rates vs other supports tell's a different story because Soraka Lulu Nami Taric Sona have the highest win rates against him.

But to answer my own question I'm going to say Immobile poke mage supports are probably his easiest laning phaseBrand Xerath Zyra

What do you guys think ?

Pyke is overpowered. You can pair him with a caster minion and he'll still be legendary before 20 minutes unless the player is trash.

Pyke wants aggro kill lanes.

Draven Jhin Lucian

Easiest matchup is probably Sona although Sona can win this matchup simply by manipulating her minions and scaling.

Sona completely outscales Pyke.

Pyke wants to make kills happen early.

I'd say Draven, Caitlyn, Kai'sa, Lucian right now, but Jhin, Miss Fortune, and Twitch are all good with him as well when they're strong.

Caitlyn and Sivir are probably best if you want to roam a lot because they can sit back and clear the wave pretty easily on their own 1v2.

The support match-up is still very important as the support players often are the deciding factor in lane. Pyke's biggest counters IMO are probably tankier supports like Thresh, Blitzcrank, Nautilus, Leona, Braum, and Tahm Kench.

I agree the mage match-ups are probably some of the easiest, but a lot of the sustain/poke match-ups should also be pretty in favor of Pyke. Just make sure you aren't going in at bad times and getting caught in a way that can ruin your engage. Enchanters tend to be super squishy and immobile.

Personally as a someone who regularly plays enchanters, Pyke is typically an annoying lane. You can't really poke him because of his passive and he creates a lot of pressure just by existing-- like every other hook champion. But that's really all Pyke is--- annoying.

I think it's just because he's not strong atm-- not super sure after the new patch but I haven't really even seen any Pykes lately. When he's strong, he's terrifying. When he isn't he's a slight inconvenience.

Kaisa Lucian Vayne Insane damage and self peeling which pyke can't provide comparing him to tank supports but these adc's damage is rellevant through any gake phase, always doing the same which pyke can't deal in teamfights so his adc's are giving him free executes for his R. Draven deletes people easily but I'd rather pair him with Brand. Varus has a LOT of damage and can lock in people like Vayne, the only thing between getting between you and that free R cast are your shaky fingers. Tristana absolutely no I've seen low elo Tristana's knocking people away when Pyke's R would landed and hit them, making their supports miss intentionally.

Adc that are self reliant in case he went roaming

Otherwise he works with all

I would say an ADC that has CC like Jhin, Jinx,Draven or even Caitlyn and maybe MissFortune , but I think the best partner Pyke can have is Jhin. I win most of my match up with either being Pyke or Jhin myself, but if you are very aggressive Draven would be a perfect partner for such playsyle.

Yeh i would also say draven, not sure if anyone else pointed this out but i believe pykes ult actually gives draven the gold from his adortion passive aswell so they just fuse really well together

I don't really care for having Pyke as my support when I'm Tristana. Tristana likes early game pressure and does well with kill supports but its very easy to forget that she's got short range early and can be prone to being bullied out or zoned. Furthermore, she pushes pretty naturally with her E. Meaning that your engages are going to be harder than if you were with someone like Jhin, Lucian or Draven.

She also definitely misses the safety that a lot of other supports provide during midgame skirmishes as this is when she's her absolute weakest. Her AA's don't hurt a lot yet but she doesn't have decent abilities for teamfighting. She kind of needs her support to carry her through mid game into late game and Pyke just isn't very good at that; he can't peel very well, has a fairly selfish playstyle, and doesn't really build any meaningful items that would help keep her safe.

Tristana works best with champs like Blitz(because he pulls them to her; she can get snowballed hard enough in laning phase with a good blitz that her poor midgame is less of an issue), or Thresh(good in lane, very good options for peeling for her midgame and late game) or like a Sona or Soraka who are playing aggressive(she makes up for their poor early game peel with her own jump and ult and their heals/ults are good for the mid and late game).

Pyke isn't the worst but I would definitely prefer one of the others I mentioned more.

Ezreal with Kleptomancy. My friend and I do this lane, dubbing it with the title "Moneybags Botlane" You end up winning in just acquiring sooo much extra gold alone between Klepto and "Your Cut".

Neeko is pretty good with pyke. Although she isn't a typical adc (I go ap on hit), it can rack up a lot of kills. Other lanes he's really good with is probably draven/lucian, possibly kaisa. I think he's mainly good with self reliant adc. Zyra might be a hard matchup for pyke but I don't really know since I don't play him. However, she does tons of instant dmg and her pushing power and being able to block his Q makes it hard for him.

ADC's I love supporting as Pyke:

Draven Caitlyn Jinx Kaisa Vayne

They all are able to capitalize on my plays. And they are able to snowball really well. So if I get them a kill or two they can take over the game and make it easier to get them more kills.

Supports I hate playing against:

Morgana Soraka Zilean

Morgana can black shield my Q engage. I just hate how she makes me lose my tempo. Other than that shes not bad. Soraka can save people from my ult at the last moment leaving me dead in the water. Same with Zil

I played with one of the brave souls that plays Mordekaiser bot as Pyke, once we hit 3 we were just murdering them left and right

Anyone with high kill pressure early is a good AD for him, like Draven.
