Why does Jayce get bonus armor and mr in cannon form?

I am generally curious as to why Jayce is the only champion of the form changers, (Jayce, Nidalee, Elise. Gnar and Quinn are exempt) that gets bonus armor and magic resistance when in melee form. I know old Nidalee used to get a little armor and mr whilst in cat form, according to the outdated champion spotlight, and i also know for a fact that elise could use bonuses in spider form. Im not saying we buff nidalee or elise but im asking why jayce is the only one that gets bonuses when the other form change champions dont. Idk man what do you guys think?

Elise gets movement speed (technically they reworded it so that her human form is slower)

movement speed is really nice dont get me wrong. but i know for a fact that old nidalee got bonus armor and mr while in cougar form. and im asking why they removed it or whatever cause being a melee champion that has the squishiness of a caster is never fun especially when nidalee play pattern is jumping on a hunted target. jayce and elise also kind of have the same play pattern as nidalee poke with shock blast or spiderling and then when they are low enough go in with your melee combo, or for elise land a cocoon then go in on it with your melee combo.

I dont thiink they should be the same lol.. im asking why jayce is the only one of the shape shifters that gets bonus armor and mr. nidalee used to back in the day, (back when ad brusier top lane tank nidalee was a thing before her kit update).
