Death Timers...

Everyone agrees that death timers are too long, making them very punishing. This mainly affects teams that are losing, because the winning team (often snow balling) can effectively use this time to take objectives and even push to win if they ace 20 minutes in. It also feelsbadman when you are trying to carry your team, you are the only one doing good so you are a couple of levels above everyone and you end up dying because your team forces a team fight. Your timer is long as hell, making it so you can't defend your own base, while your team tries to 4v5 upon respawning. I think a simple way to balance these death timers would be to lower the base value, and then make the timer scale with the median level of a team instead of an individual's level. What do you guys think?

I think it makes for decent gameplay. League of Legends is over 6 years old so in trying to keep up with the player base getting better they will have to change a few things to keep it fresh.

I think, though I cannot say for certain and speak for the company, this is an attempt to add a little depth to the gameplay. And that it does. Essentially in the current state of things players need to be a lot more careful about staying alive than they have been in the past.

The risk-reward of objectives late game goes way up. Huge risk if you mess up and lose 3 people after 30-40 minutes, so we need to make decisions better based on that. That tier 1 tower, probably not worth it. The baron, hmmmmm.

At least that's my view on it.

Well with Riot stating "Early game towers protect you, late game you protect towers." This kind of death timer balancing doesn't make much sense. Especially with Riot making towers far weaker in late s5-s6. With these long death timers if you die it translates into objectives, towers, and even inhibitors being taken. Instead of what it used to be was, if you die you will lose a tower, and maybe dragon/baron. Baron is also kind of an oppressive objective. It allows the enemy team to easily take down turrets, especially inner turrets. I know it is supposed to deal a lot of damage, and be kind of a risk, but when a team is so far ahead with this snowball meta, team fighting isn't even an option. I think to fix this game they can change death timers, increase the strength of towers, and make baron do more damage (maybe have an aoe %hp damage ability) , make it so baron buffed minions aren't as strong, and reduce or replace the current buff from 4th dragon (20% less damage from turrets).
