Long Ass Rant (Why I Am Starting To Hate League)

I think Riot has a problem of making dramatic changes too often. Maybe that is just my opinion. I used to really enjoy this game. I looked forward shortly after really getting into it (after playing ranked) to maybe make it to high elo one day. I was getting pretty good, and had a large emphasis on my mechanics, that is why I would watch Faker for inspiration. But that was back in the day when everyone revered the best players for their individual skill and their ability to carry their teams solo. But league has evolved in such a way that one tricks are a dying breed and everyone is a meta slave. Want to play your main? If they aren't the most recently buffed or reworked champion you are out of luck because you just can't get by playing what you like anymore, simply because everything Riot touches is broken as fuck. It's kind of like the Midas touch except it doesn't provide any benefit to the community, just creates skewed gameplay. Another large problem is queues involving more than one players (two is kind of okay). Players will play with their friends giving them a large number of advantages. For one they all have communication, which is highly valuable, especially against a team of solos who don't have the best coordination or map awareness. Second, they have play styles and similar decision making that over time gets to a point where they know each others' habits, weaknesses, strengths, and what not, basically they know how to work with their team better and what they can and cannot do. So combine these two toxic things that have been going on and you have a huge mess.

As a solo player (sometimes duo) I suffer from both of these in their own way. To start off with the non stop changes creating an ever growing list of OP champions I simply don't have the IP to purchase what is OP. I literally started this game out buying what looked cool and what sounded fun, that is why I own all of the cheap/old champions, champions that haven't fully caught up to Riot's changes and haven't been hand designed to work efficiently in League's new style of play. I also can't learn all of the champions, even if I had them. Which sucks because every two weeks I have to endure a new list of champions who are just going to straight up shit on me cause Riot buffed them. Do I want to play melee? Nah, although I advocate for the fairness between ranged and melee champions I don't want to play melee cause of toxic shit like Jayce that has poke/burst and can't be caught because he has a lot of shit in his kit making it so you can't chase/run from him, fuck Jayce. Do I want to play something that is squishy but has damage? NOPE! Yasuo will just shit on me cause he will block all of my shit with one 18 second cool down spell, he will dash in, and kill me with his 100% crit chance, that is only 1 of 1 million passives he has. Do I want to play a tank? Nah, tanks get peeled by other tanks, and have too much to build against. It used to be like, mages could barely dent tanks, only dealing a small portion of their health, because all tanks needed to do was build HP and a little bit of MR, and don't forget those long range ADCs like MF and Cait who will kite your ass all day while dealing 20% of your HP every auto attack. But I also hate tanks because they are like assassins, if they get fed or farmed they will shit on you because you have to wait until you have an IE, two attack speed items, and a LW before you can even think about trying to kill them, then factor in their mages who will kill you at twice the range of your auto attack while CC'ing you ( ). So can I support? Can't do that shit either, bot lane has been a 2v4 ever since dynamic queue has been released. Even when the players aren't all queued up (which is really fucking rare) the whole strategy is still existent with solo junglers. Can I play jungle, yes, that is the only role that I find peace in, but unfortunately I am a poor man in terms of IP and can't buy meta junglers, so fuck me lol, I guess I will play Gragas or some shit, which I don't even find fun.
