Malzahar's "Update" Post-Opinion

Malzahar's E,W,R combo needed to be nerfed, which combining his W and R onto his ult did. Literally every other change was completely unnecessary. Yes they obviously needed to put something else in the W slot, but they completely ruined his design by putting voidlings there, and ended up changing literally everything about the champion. Excluding his artistic theme -_-
Farm pattern changed. Damage pattern changed (expected). Weaknesses changed. Strengths changed. AD gameplay changed. AP gameplay changed.
Honestly the new malzahar is just a more automated version of a homogenized AD and AP malzahar. Though i guess we should've expected that when their own fucking design direction said both

This was their description of malzahar! They clearly had contradictory opinions of the champion, and the only way to make the champion both more complex, and less intensive without a complete rework, would be to automate the shit out of their abilities.
The only thing I miss is being able to zone an entire team with the old W + Q + Rylia's + Liandry's. I prefer the new one because of the passive. It just feels like he has less range now because his only zoning tool vs multiple enemies is Q. In other words, he is really really bad at zoning for a control mage.
