In What Way Does Xerath Cheat?

Scarizard stated that one of Xerath's weaknesses Riot would like to address is that his abilities can feel like they're cheating. I have no idea what that means, and am simply curious about perspectives on this statement.

As a Xerath main, some of his hit boxes are a little stretched, notably his Q

The biggest cheat Xerath ever did was go Bot Support with Jhin and unleash the Skillshots of Cancer. This botlane duo is amongst the most ridiculous things I have ever seen in this game--the sheer poke power and range between the two of them barrs the opportunity for any kind of counterplay. I wasn't even mad when we lost to them, it was glorious to witness. XerathJhin

i think "cheating" is a bit of an exaggeration. can understand during lane phase, as xerath there are less things to focus on, and you may land your spell more often (plus the Q hitbox is a bit off, and may be misleading). however, casting Q at max range puts xerath in a dangerous situation, especially now that there's so much mobility everywhere. his W is fairly dodgeable, not to talk about his ult. things get worse after laning phase, when everyone can get out of nowhere and kill you if do something wrong. don't get me wrong, i love to play xerath also because of the tension it gives. but i don't really like the way "cheat" is used to describe his gameplay pattern sometimes. there is a certain amount of mastery needed in order to achieve a certain success with him, and if that's the case, i don't see why you shouldn't get rewarded. there are also more frustrating champions, but i won't get into there.

They mean his Q although it has notable signs cough channeling animation cough when its being launched his Q feels quite unfair honestly the hitbox at the end or the indicator is a lie because the true range is the animation his Q is also quite wide and a lot of the time champions with 325 MS will just get bullied hard by him

The only thing about Xerath that seems to "cheat" is probably the tip of his Q hitbox, it seems to stretch out farther than the indicator.

Precisely. Though this gets balanced out when you consider playing Xerath with anything above 50 ping is suicide.

His Q

I remember making a post about this a while back. It's more in the line of two things:

A.) the indicator and hitbox don't match up and it feels clunky and unfair to get hit by sometimes and B.) it's delayed, but it;s also instant. Which is kind of an irritating combo because you can't really dodge so much as you have to fake him out. Especially with low mobility champs.

i think they are against the whole artillery mage concept as its hard to counter play, makes me sorta sad tbh though. I main xerath and love his playstyle = /
