A Solution to Yasuo's Windwall

TheGamingFiles··15 votes·3,640 views

As we all know, Yasuo's windwall is very strong. Technically, it does not matter how fed the enemy ADC is if you have a Yasuo on your team who blocks 100% of all their damage.

One solution which I also think is the best solution would be to give Yasuo's windwall an HP bar, just like Yorick's wall ability. You would hit the windwall twice at level 1, then 3 times at level 2, and so on. This way it does not last so long, because in a teamfight it can block out so damage, to where it does not matter how fed you are because his windwall blocks most of your damage.

TL:DR, make Yasuo's windwall have an HP bar that scales with his level.

I loathe playing against Yasuo, but I don't think his WW is a problem.

It's fine, it's like sivir spellshield you have to play around it. What's irritating about it is in lane you have to do these things in order to trade with him:

  1. Hit him with a AA or Skill to pop his shield before he regains it back

  2. Actually hit him with a skill which can be very hard when he's got a creep wave to dash through.

  3. Avoid the wind wall block should he put it up.

He has a lot of defensive tools that are very frustrating to play against, whether they are warranted or not I don't know. I do know lanes he's good against are excruciatingly frustrating to play and typically involve being shoved into your tower to no end.

There's minor interactions that are also not well rewarded, like if you cc him after he knocks you up, he can still sometimes ult afterwards (nami bubble he can)

When you do manage to hit him and surprise him that he doesn't preemptively put up his windwall, the cast time on his skill is non existant, it just expands out/gets bigger farther from him but still blocks it before it is finally cast.

Yeah, his windwall has a high CD even late game. Once you wait it out, or walk aorund it, the only tank thing can that help yasuo survive is his passive shield that doesn't even disable CC like sivir. So basicly get over with his windwall and engage on yasuo, basicly land one CC spell on him and use the champion's combo, you pretty much win the trade

No how you fix his windwall is you remove it spawning from inside of him and have it actually spawn in front of him so he can't panic throw it in a random direction and block something in the opposite direction. Literally the only nerf it needs.

AmazoX1 votes

It should spawn from the CHARACTER and move towards the direction he has released the WIND. ALTHOUGH what they should fix is if a projectile is coming towards your character, The moment you use wind wall regardless of the direction, Wind Wall disperses off the projectile.

Fondling Gems1 votes

Not necessarily, we have in game evidence that windwall doesn't have to spawn from him. Take a look at his recall sometime, Yasuo clearly slashes the ground and wind comes out of it. It wouldn't even visually be difficult to make windwall look the same when he casts it, just have the animation be him cutting the ground and then spawn the windwall. Boom, all the BS blocks from panic throwing his windwall are gone.

i agree, the windwall can be left alone but not how his three passives are though

Yasuo does not have three passives.

Yasuo does not have three passives.

no he does, flow is actually three passives, he gains a shield passivley from moving, he gets bonus crit and he has bonus movment speed, riot tried hiding three passives by combining them into one, but its really three passives not one.

He doesn't have bonus MS from it -_-

yes he does, ever notice how at levels 1-5 or whenever a yasuo in lane you are facing has not backed yet and still with boots of speed the tier one boots, you still cannot catch him if you are chasing him.

  1. It's called using his e.

  2. He has one of the highest base movespeeds in the game at 345.

Why mate, GIVE AN EXPLANATION please, Clarify.

Bjornack2 votes

i dont think his windwall is a problem and i have had this debate with a close friend of mine that pointed out yasuo has 3 passives for his Flow Passive.

its not about nerfing or balancing his wind wall, which would be nice if the duration was lowered on it, it more how they are going to balance his three passives: movement speed, critical hit and the flow shield that blacks all forms of damage for a short duration when activated.

That is what you should be suggestion Riot does to yasuo

AmazoX1 votes

Movement Speed passive on Yasuo?

Movement Speed passive on Yasuo?

yup on top of the increased critical strike and sheild, that makes three passives technically

I replied earlier in the thread, but I will reply again here.

He. Does. Not. Have. A. Move. Speed. Passive.

give jax's counterstrike a hp bar then and teemo blind and anything that prevents damage.

/retarded

midnight oil241 votes

Well see, the difference here is that Jax's counterstrike only blocks one attack. Teemo only blocks from one person, and only basic attacks.

Yasuo gets a wall that gets bigger as it levels up that lasts for a period of time during which it can block all damage, even ultimates.

jax's blocks all attacks for 2.5 seconds wtf are u on

midnight oil241 votes

First off, speak politely. No one will listen to you if you don't.

Okay, I slipped up on that, but even then, Jax is one champ, and only he gets to have the damage blocked, and still takes damage (less, but still) from aoe attacks, meaning he's not invulnerable.

Yasuo can protect the entire team from a ton of attacks for several seconds.

As a Tristana whose WHOLE KIT is negated by WindWall, I say yank the ability entirely and buff his kit elsewhere. Otherwise, I'll keep banning his happy ass because: a) I hate the thing (even though other abilities in his kit are actually stronger) b) 9 times out of 10 Yasuo mains get tilted when their champ is banned

Spicy Rice1 votes

A. That's fair

B. 9/10 people get tilted when their main that they put literally hundreds of hours into is banned

well i am not a yasuo main for one, 2 you dont need to be cynical about it, i am actually trying to point out the real problem with yasuo

AmazoX1 votes

Riot Games are very careful with skirmishers, Especially the part of their kits where they have a strong defensive tool, If this change ever happens, I would rather have Riot Games give him another ability, Just my two cents.

Lugg1 votes

Another problem with WW is that it blocks some abilities that shouldn't be blocked. For instance Malphite's Q, it moves along the ground, it shouldn't be considered a projectile.

Wreckord1 votes

Yasuo was strong in S5,6, tank and lifesteal yasuo. But as a yasuo main, I have to say that yasuo is extremely weak right now against most mid laners. His E, his main mobility comes from minions or enemies, and it has a 6 second CD which means that every wave you can only get 7 dashes then the first one cools down(Not mentioning the fact that you probably already killed the first creep) Against champions with strong mobility, dmg, cc, yasuo can't really do anything because his shield only blocks spells or AA once. Which means his W is needed to block AA or projectiles. The fact that the windwall can only stay in one area and he's a bruiser, the current windwall is pretty balanced. Plus you mentioned about ADCs. Have you not thought of walking around the windwall? Or just not engage at all? Because once the windwall goes on CD, adcs have spells to close up distance with yasuo and he'll be easily kited. People who think yasuo is broken are just trash with no capability to play the champions they are talking about.

SSShutTheDuckUp1 votes

Yasuo is annoying. I can deal with him, but I do not want do. So he remains my go-to ban

GULAG 4 U1 votes

No.

Stop it with giving windwall an hp bar. It's not something that's going to happen nor something remotely good for the game.

the whole point of windwall IS TO WALK AROUND IT. Not stand in front of it hoping it will magically disappear. Giving it an HP bar is literally completely killing the entire point of the skill, yall need to STFU about it.

And just because you're fed as fuck it doesn't mean you get to rightclick everything or faceroll your ass on your keyboard and do not need to play around champion kits.
