Unpopular opinion: The recent pyke buff actually put him in a decent Not terribad, Not Op state

maybe its because, idk, i play the champion alot that people seem to bitch about but the simple double income change to pyke support gives him alot more incentive to do his job as a finisher and a lock down CC (but extremely squishy) like thresh, but without health or armor.

also, i dont think he needs buffs of any kind, his q is fine, its on a fairly long cooldown

his w compliments his passive which, despite people saying is broken, only scales well, meaning he can get heals instead of raw health and armor. which ya know, is kinda fair... he literally cant just be a tanky tank because then all his scaling goes way down.

his e is easier to dodge than most people think, although a flash combo does make this pretty hard, i would change it by maybe increaseing damage but nerfing cd? idk

and yes his ult, a flat health execute, with resets. Its a bit like darius. The reason people hate it is that its so easy to get off and murder everyone which trust me, is not true entirely... the giant 1 second delay of OH SHIT PYKES ULTING FLASH HEAL ZHONYA is a pretty fucking massive counter to the guy, since he teleports if he hits you even if it doesnt kill you

His ult is more about TIMING. not just smashing your face on the r button. its not as simple as it seems to pull off. Its about timing and knowing your teams damage and your own, for instance: you wanna try to get a double on two fairly low hp targets, and your karthus starts ulting, now first of all this is a rare example but that isnt the point, if you can remember how much damage karthus r did last time you can try to see if it doesnt or does get them below the threshold

As for double cut... double gold for a support isnt an overpowered thing. maybe for a laner yea id agree, but that got nerfed into oblivion. And even though he is damage, hes AD damage which means unlike carry supports with damage like lux zyra brand, his items are twice as more expensive. and scale a lot worse. so yea thats all i wanted to give

but nah ill prob just get called a r%%%%% or something by people who have played only 24 minutes of the champion

knowledge comes from experience. I commend you to try pyke a lot BEFORE you bitch about him.

Here's the actual fact with Pyke that people are going to extremely dislike --

His win rate varies all the way from 54% in iron level down to 48% in Masters.

The reason is because the kill gold is absolutely ridiculous with how it was tweaked but high ELOs die a lot less. Meaning Pyke is actually balance if you are Plat or above.

It's not the champion's problem... it's how poorly people play.

The changes were net neutral in my opinion. They also shipped him with a 50% damage reduction to enemies he doesn't kill with his R, meaning multikills are less likely.

I still don't hate him any less though, still the hardest champion in league to punish. He'll just dash away and go invis unless he messes up an engage so he pretty much never dies unless he ints.
