There are a lot of cool events happening in the new 'awaken' cinematic but does anyone know if any of it actually even happened? I mean there are some pretty specific and important events happening so I would hope so at least...
There are statements from Rioters on twitter saying that they are stories to be "explored"; in other words, it's likely stories will be released this year that cover the events of the cinematic.
They will happen sometime in the future.

I hope that they don't make it canon, while i think that the fight between Riven and Draven is accurate to both champions personalty, it would be a bad step forward with riven's story. Riven according to Rioters on the boards she is a Noxian being reforged by Ionia, and instead having her be imprisoned and put to death in the arena will just turn her into "i was with the evil nation but now i'm with the good guys" that would make the graying of Noxus and Demacia morally pointless.
(Noxus revived Sion dispite the issues that rises because he'd be useful, bringing a deserter back under the same mindset is perfectly reasonable)

As far as i know, is canon that Jhin went to Piltover.
Jhin is on the loose and in his release cinematic, we know he would like too assassinate Vi. Assassinating a famous police enforcer could distabilize Piltover and would be good for Zaun's illegal activities, therefore Camille, with her connections whats to stop Jhin before he does anything. This is happening on the present. Around 70% that it could be canon.
Riven comes from Noxus but we don't know much about her origins. She may have had prove her strength in the fight against Draven and that's why she became a general later on. This of course, happened in the past, before the Ionia invasion. This happened in the past. Around 85% that it could be canon.
While we don't know when was Sion ressurected, it may have been very well around the Ionia invasion. We know that most Ionia champions participated in war in a form or another, with Irelia probably being the most important figure here. This could have also been the moment where Yasuo leaves his post to help out some Ionians, getting the people he was supposed to protect killed. Shen is missing but he could have very well been fighting in another front. (Personally, I would have prefered that it would be Shen shielding and teleporting to Irelia, bringing his ninja friends sou we could see the Kinkou thogether. Also, both Irelia and Karma dislike each other stances on the war, so it's weird seeing Karma helping Irelia. Not that she wouldn't help a fellow ionian in need but still, weird choice.) This also happens before Akali leaving the Kinkou. This, of course, happened in the recent past. Around 99% of being canon.

it's been over a year since we were in "these" meetings. IIRC...
For the purposes of this video's storytelling everything is just slightly in the future. It portrays a plausible, potentially real future. Riven has clearly been extradited, or captured and thrown in the pits after her present timeline story taking place in Ionia. In order to portray Draven as just ever so slightly different, we decided to change his costume from participant of the gladiatorial arena to VIP onlooker and presider-over-events fancy guy. Not so over the hill that he's in government uniform, but not as grimy as he once was.
