Every hero should just be manaless
It would solve the whole bitching about energy vs mana thing, if ya get rid of mana, one less problem for riot.

Makes me miss Dawngate.
Did Dawngate not have any mana? I'm Curious.

Every character had a unique mechanic or a special resource only they used that quickly regenerated and made it generally easy to do things in the game, you literally never had to back for mana, it was always to heal.
There was no mana. Some of them had Energy. Some had their own unique setup. Most had nothing and were mainly limited by ranks and cooldowns. Most that did have a resource to manage also got a bonus passive for managing that resource. Most who had nothing didn't have a passive like we do in league.
There were only a few abilities that were targeted. Overall they did a very good job making it work.
IMO League could learn a lot from what Dawngate had. It overall felt like League 2.0. They had a lot that was obviously brought over from League.
Too bad EA dropped it.
A really fun game it was. Too bad they were with EA.
GG

nerf
and
I played her in urf and wow she was as unfair as ryze and kassadin in that game mode
mana is still needed, just buff mana regen items so they become a better choice to buy
Yeah uh, no. Every champion should use mana is the correct answer here.
There's a reason some champ have to use mana, they need to be limited, would you enjoy a Orianna spamming the shit out of her abilities or Syndra?
Unless with the supposed manaless changes you also apply a big set of changes for champions that have spammy abilities that are meant to work with a limited resource.
The thing is Riot wants balance but they always stay on the extreme edges of opposites.
S4: MANA 2 STRONG, with chalice turning every mage with mana into a semi manaless being.
Pre-s5: Mana reg OP? Let's nerf it into oblivion.
You know who are the real ones that got hit harder than mages?
Those champions that use mana and aren't mages and cannot build mana regen because of lack of meaningful itemization.
Is it that hard to just make that mana is still a limited resource but is not as crappy as it is now? IS IT REALLY HARD TO BALANCE some numbers into a mix of S4 and what we have now?
In medio stat virtus.
The needs of the few outweigh the needs of the many.
There should be tears of goddess here but no more mana = no more crying.
I like it. REMOVE MANA!!!!
would truly become Kassawin with a long range aoe damage flash every couple seconds, not to mention constant force pulse spamming because everyone else spams, on top of constant magic damage shields...
well that would 100% screw over Ryze...
Or just bring Chalice back up to strength. Not back to what it was pre-nerf, but to a level stronger than its current state.

Riot wont do that and you know it, just kill mana
Just like how they won't ever add %HP items Or they won't ever add a champion entirely dependent on personal minions Or they won't ever rework Evelynn and Twitch
I get the distinct feeling that I'm just a lot more patient than the average person.
Or they won't ever add a champion entirely dependent on personal minions

Psst, hey. The entire point of those three statements was to say that Riot's done several things that the community figured they weren't ever going to do. And, actually, Azir is a better example of a truly minion-dependent champion.
Ok but let's think about this... What are the pros and cons? Which champs would benefit too much? How to balance, etc. The more detail you get into, the more likely it'll get changed. (I think)

Thats for riot to figure out :)
That's probably like saying, every champion should have the same abilities except for the ultimate; it would get rid of a lot of problems in champion balance.
So what you are saying is: bring back URF? URF coming soon confirmed guys!
So what you are saying is: bring back URF? URF coming soon confirmed guys!
YES, URF CONFIRMED!
Mana-less Sona.
I like it.
obviously they'd need to increase cooldowns on some of the more spammy characters to actually give people a chance, thats kind of implied
Here comes AP Kog to ruin everyone's day.
Have fun playing against Kartus, Cassiopeia, Lissandra and the likes.
I will
Hero? DOTA player detected. Kidding XD
But srsly now,it´s champion, also upvote for balance. :D
Mana is a good resource that allows champinos to have otherwise unhealthy paterns which are made acceptable by being gated by mana.
Riots job is not to get solutions but to get good solutions.
Meanwhile in top lane.
Its fun watching the comments :) its not imposssible to balance manaless champs that used mana.
I cannot think of a single mana-gated champion that I would want to see manaless in the laning phase. Maybe that's because I prefer mages in mid lane, but I'm less afraid of Zed than I would be of a no-mana Xerath, Lux or Ziggs. And the only way to balance any of these champions would be harsh nerfs to their early game.
that would be finally a buff for sona
No more mana would be great personally.
