More than twice the damage of the mid lane Zed, that's pretty impressive.

PSA for all ADC mains: The support doesn't need to follow you everwhere; run into a 3v1 and don't expect any help from me. Also if a support has a consistent output of wards, they don't NEED a sightstone. It's nice, yes; but it's not NEEDED

Except if the ADC is Kalista, and the support is Leona/Braum. Then they both wanna stick together to make the #BigPlays

I can understand that the support doesn't need to tagalong the ADC once laning phase is over. Also, I would agree to only "give up one, not two."

However, a "consistent output of wards" usually adds up to over ten wards in a normal-length game. If you are dropping 11 or more wards, getting a sightstone would be the more economically sound choice.

Support is only in the game to get carried, you basically sit in lane to do nothing besides warding, do 1 or 2 spells to scare enemies off and block a cc or 2 plus pokes with your butt, risking your life for the adc is all you can do.

You don't get really get gold which means you don't need to squeeze your brain over what item you need to build, support items are OP anyways, just upgrade from your gold item of choice, get boot and sightstone BAM game's already over, much skill eh?

Your sole purpose is to lit up the jungle like Christmas tree, keep people informed about ganks, clearing wards, prob inform a little about objectives and nothing else, oh and listen to every order I give you, die for the team and keep people alive in teamfights.

Speaking of teamfights, it's not hard to peel for the entire team and cc the top priorities at the same time, that's the only thing you need to do, that's fkn it, AND YOU FAIL 8 TIMES OUT 10! You can not cs, as in, you can't because duh and you don't do damage, I WORK HARD TO SPAM MY QWER TO DROP PEOPLE DEAD YOU ONLY NEED TO KEEP EVERYONE ALIVE ITS NOT THAT HARD, AT ALL!!

Only noobs play support because they can't play themselves. Cya.

As someone who likes to support, I think the best way to make support a more enjoyable role is to have more support champions. I would also like to also ask Riot to add a feature that gives a person Win Points after they reach level 30.

Win Points will be very complex and have a very hard way to gain them. These points can only be gained in team builder and will be explained further, right now. The reason is, you will gain points based on:

  1. what position you play
  • whether it be top, bot, or mid (jun is included and duo top is possible)
  1. how rarely your champion is played
  • the lower the champion is played, the higher the points (champion scaling will be redone each week)
  • if you play a champion that is meant for the said role, but hardly played, you gain more than someone who plays a champion who is just rare
  • jungle will have a hard time with this. more than likely, champions never used in jungle will be like champions meant for a role but rarely played there.
  • fighters are meant for top, mages are meant for mid, marksmen are bot as well as supports
  • tanks can go top, but support tanks are always reduced by half so blitz support will not give many points
  • secondaries are also usable, and can also be scaled by how much they are played in said position
  1. length of game
  • the longer the game, the more points the winners will receive
  • losers can lose points if the game ends to fast, but can get it to where they lose none to gain some if they make the game last. (28-32 minute mark is where losing team loses no points)
  • surrenders give those that surrender 1/3 less loss of Win Points but also gives winners extra 1/3 Win Points. More for each by how long game is.
  1. AFK
  • This will not give the AFK points but will also not take any away from the AFK
  • The members of the AFK will receive an extra 1/2 of what they get if they win or take 1/2 off of there loss.
  • The AFK will have to play a match while to gain no points if he/she wins. If they lose, they receive the loss of Win Points Now, there are ways to lose Win Points other than the ones above:
  1. Deaths
  • if you receive too many deaths, you will lose either more Win Points or gain less when you win (even possible to lose points if you win)
  1. Reports
  • If 4 or more teammates report 1 player, the player loses double what they would had lost or gains nothing if they win

What do you think?

This almost seems to me like its enforcing a meta too much

lol, I don't know really. There are so many different opinions on here. And to get a side for both, it takes the most random post. I keep getting called out for trying to break the meta and when I try and make a thing for the meta, I'm still far away from what I should do. Man, this is hard.

How to sarcasm:

Because, you know, supports totally do nothing but sit in lane a throw wards down. They just have to peel whole teams after all. etc.

Honestly, that didn't sound at all like sarcasm. In fact, it sounds like so many players who never willingly do bot lane, claims to "not know how to support," and rogue supports who get hard carry champs for bot lane and throw the ADC under the bus. This happens more often than not, that playing ADC is a crap shoot at best. And yet, you get these same players bitching and whining about the ADC, despite that they can't even buy a single ward on their own.

rekd12 votes

"Lighting their jungle up like a christmas tree" should have been a dead giveaway before reading any further seeing as you can only have four wards on the map

SpiderTeo1 votes

No, it isn't. Said players also do not understand that 3 (+1 pink) wards are far from enough to cover the whole map. These players even rely on their trinkets and claim that they "always ward" despite their warding efforts, which are practically nil and even less than helpful.

Seriously. At first I thought you were serious, then I got to the third paragraph and realized you were being sarcastic. Don't worry, your sarcasm is just too advanced for most plebs

sups win games, not saying that just because i main support but we are the ones the are primary vision, heals, and defense for the adc. Support is so underrated, which would be bad, but im almost guaranteed my role.

Lost R2 votes

I'm a support main, too, but sometimes I want to play another role (hell, sometimes I'd like to play another champion, but when everyone on the team goes all assassin to the point that slows are treated like gold bricks, you're getting shoehorned into one of three champions, and that's without bans. In draft pick and ranked, God help you.). Yesterday I wanted to try out new Tristana, got the ADC role, but no one wanted to support, and in the first game, everyone went all assassin. That is unbelievably TOXIC for the game, if no one is willing to compromise or play any role other than the one, and all the teamwork and cooperation is dependent on a singular person picking one role, or even one champion in order to cover up all of the weaknesses and shortfalls of an entire team.

Then we get the Yolo Q Kalista who burns half the tank in 30 minutes.

But otherwise, I agree.

kirbyzama3 votes

This is one of those things where I get its supposed to be a nice sentiment and I get that but me being me has to over think it. Should I only respect my support when they solo carry my games? What about my Morg support I had yesterday? She did little but die that game but I had tons of respect for her because half the time she put her self in harms way to try and help me (even though I was tristana and not in any danger). She was positive and friendly even though she basically got carried (I kinda was too 7/1 isn't as good as our 18 kill Vi) I have more respect for a positive attitude then a positive kda.

What about when your support treats you like dirt? They can be the best support in the world and I won't respect them. And we all know supports are just as capable as raging as anyone else. What if leona goes in alone while everyone is dead or low and throws? Respect is something earned through exceptionalism not demanded for playing a certain role. Half the reason I don't like other adc mains or jungle mains is they often come off as demanding respect even if they don't do anything to earn it. Also with how many "Respect the Supports" threads I see they hardly seem to be the thankless job they were when I started playing. Still not as appreciated as it probably should (unless you play a god-like thresh) but the job is hardly thankless. Sorry if that came off as sounding mean I love supports and most supports I get are nice. I just wanted to bring some realism into the hug box.

Supports win games. Assuming no one is strong enough to just carry the team, the support is actually one of the roles that can have a bigger impact on who wins than most other roles, espeically at low elo. They provide the vision. This means your allies don't get caught nearly as much. And your team has much more of an ability to catch them. Not only that, but you can often get some enemies chasing you when you go to ward, and then they chase you to their death and you just made another play for your team. So yes, because of this, even supports that you thought couldn't make plays for your team still can. And they don't get as much credit as they deserve, especially for these kind of plays.

RogueWill1 votes

After Junglers, main supports are usually the players with more map awareness (being adc the one with the worst followed close by top players). Since they do no damage or little damage position is really important for them as it allows them to either give utility without being killed or being able to shield your carries(if you are a tank). the lane phase is probably the easy part and teh less important of being support and is what most casual supports consider the main use of the support.

Spacesuit Spiff2 votes

Support: the role where you can kinda sorta get away with standing around doing nothing, but if the other support doesn't also, you're sure as hell not winning the game.

I had this Ashe today who wasn't familiar with adc, and I noticed she was missing a lot of cs. So instead of just defending her and trying to survive the lane against odds, I went ham on the enemy botlane (Draven and Morgana), and eventually whittled them down with smart trades, threw them out of lane multiple times, and killed Draven's stacks a couple of times before he cashed them in during midgame. Won lane, even though Ashe had maybe half of Draven's cs just from missing most of the last-hits.

That's what a support can do, and even though people can occasionally get carried by sitting bot and doing nothing, the people who support properly can have a pretty huge influence on games if you aren't low elo (since you need an adc that doesn't keep dying every 10 seconds no matter what you do, which are pretty rare in silver/bronze)
