@Meddler, Assassin items for the assassin update?
Are there going to be assassin items (e.g.
) for the assassin update like preseason or mid-season? If so, what kind of functions or purpose will the items serve for the assassin(s)?

Something something reddit had a post about this.
Heartseeker Poniard 60 AD 20% CDR Unique Passive: Gain 10 flat armor penetration for every 100 AD (caps at 30 ar pen) Cost- 3600G
Regicide Masque 45 AD 10 flat armour penetration Unique Passive-Regicide: 12% Bonus Damage when attacking target from behind(applies to spells as well) Active: Teleport directly behind a target enemy champion within range(500)(90 sec CD) Cost: 3100G
Geralf's Hunting Visor 30 AD 5% Movement speed Passive: Unstealthed Enemies below 30% HP within a certain range(2000) are outlined(think Rengar Vision) Unique Passive(Great Hunt): While moving you generate "Hunt" stacks increasing your movespeed(stack generation increased when moving towards a visible enemy). At 100 Hunt stacks your next attack is a guaranteed modified critical strike(160%) that will apply a 1 second slow then cause your target to bleed for 90% of your bonus AD as magic damage and the stacks will be consumed.
None of these items will be used by bruisers or adc ... except that they will lol. Imagine an Olaf with blink strike, almost any jungle with 2000 range free vision, or an adc duel vs any immobilizing cast animation. Bruisers are still gonna do assassins jobs with stuff like this. Plus that bleed one will be stupid broken on a champ like Zed if no rework as the bleed will replace his added AA and cause an almost gaurenteed instant death while he hits R after almost nothing. Have to say these don't sound like fun items to me :(

There's a reasoning for those items. Apparently both Talon and Katarina are having their blinks removed for their rework in exchange for 'counter-playability'.
Well, that's an Olaf who just used one item slot and 3100 gold for a blink ability, 45AD (which is laughably low) and 10 Armor pen.
While with 100 more gold he'd get 60AD, 10% CDR (not that important for him), 20 Armor Pen and an active that he can use twice for every single use of the first that gives him a much better chasing potential as well as dueling.
It would be far from optimal.
I could see the first one being used on ADC Casters as Lucian or Ez, but that's about it.
Dota players pay a bunch for just the blink no stats. You under estimate the power of adding a blink (I geuss 2 now with flash) to highly immobile champs.
As far as I remember, on DotA the abilities do not scale with stats. And the mobility there is much more restricted. Making a blink that more important.
I agree that a FED Olaf with that item is scary. But if you are even, by building this item he would be giving up an important power spike for the ability to reach an enemy, which is not something he really has a problem with.
Now, if you put that on a Galio, whole different story.
I think they added scaling to mages. And I think physic did on some skills may be all now.
Haven't played since old days though so this is all hear say.
That second one on Shaco. Teleport behind someone to deal 32% extra damage.
I wonder how the third one will work. What if my next auto would be a crit? Do I get a full dmg crit or a reduced one? How does it interact with Shaco's Q, for example? Do I get 20% from the Q and lose 40% from the item? So many questions!
Can you give me a link to that reddit post?

Meddler confirmed a little over an hour ago that the leak was fake. So I guess it's not true.
Ok, thanks.
I desperately hope they add some AP itemization to the assassin update. When you compare the itemization mages got compared to the itemization tanks and adcs got with their updates? Its laughable.
Mages got net 0 items because they also got items taken away, and almost nobody uses the new hextech items. Meanwhile tank/adc reworks not only added a bunch of items but made old ones viable. But we're probably just going to get a shit ton new AD items because of riot's AD bias.
That's not even getting into how half the reworks were failures and the other half overtuned. Maybe Riot should have people that actually play the champs work on the reworks???
There was no tank rework. It was a juggernaut rework.
