Pretty sure Zyra needs an actual nerf, the one she got was so irrelevant she actually wins MORE now

I don't think I really need to explain it do I? Two nerfs to mage supports went out last patch, the Brand one was targeted at his damage output and seems to drop him to acceptable levels, the Zyra one targeted her mana regen and didn't really do anything? I mean I didn't really get what the thought process was behind it, since Zyra went from having the highest base mana regen in the game to... still having the highest mana regen in the game...? Not like her kit's particularly draining considering her Q's mana cost is static, and her W costs nothing so there's only two basics skills you really drain mana with...

But I digress, just nerf zyra please, it'd be nice to see less of her in botlane.

WRONG Zyra needs to be viable mid lane again. It's pretty simple. Want mage supports out of bot lane -- like xerath, lux, zyra, brand, and fiddle? Make them viable against the extremely BROKEN mid lane assassin meta.

agreed. she does need a nerf.

Zyra and Brand are mid lane mages that go bot for a kill lane. They aren't real supports.

With that said, I think Zyra didn't need a nerf and doesn't need anymore. Her damage is hard to hit because of slow missile speeds, buggy plants and dodgability as well which it's easy to see where she's going to try to poke or hit with E and avoid it. Ult is easy to get out of as well.

I would like to see less of her in botlane and get her back where she's supposed to be but I also don't think she needs nerfs.

Let's be real here. As I've said since the rework in season 6, Zyra's seed passive is inherently toxic and unsustainable. Reasons:

  1. It gives her far too much power relative to other champs at levels 1-6

  2. It's RNG. There's skill to playing with/around it, but it's still totally random whether you spawn seeds in a threatening or useless location.

  3. The passive seeds are the stated reason why plant health was nerfed, leading to many situations where they are 1-shot and unreliable.

  4. Plant damage is increased with Zyra's level, then multiplied by number of plants, number of attacks, and multiplied by 1.5 with her ult. The added plants from passive increase her theoretical damage ceiling by far too much.

The fact is that Zyra will never be fixed until this is addressed, and Riot has thus far refused to do so. Per usual, they keep the most toxic part of a kit and nerf all the way around it.

Playing as Zyra is not particularly enjoyable. You have to deal with layers of RNG and delays, and it's unbelievably frustrating to land a perfect combo only to have your plants melted in a fraction of a second. You can also be totally nullified in champ select because of bullshit coding that Riot is ok with (Corki, MF, Lucian, etc).

Playing against Zyra is also extremely miserable, and it's only made worse in champ select. Sivir's W deals 0 damage to plants while MF and Corki autos 1-shot them. Her early dps and zoning are absurd. And despite proper positioning there's always a chance that her passive will randomly fuck you over by spawning two seeds 100 units from you.

You've probably noticed that there are wildly different perceptions of Zyra amongst players, ranging from OP bullshit to total dumpster fire. Both are correct, and that's exactly why she's such a toxic nightmare. She's very similar to Illaoi and Katarina in the way she has exceptionally high damage capacity alongside exceptionally high counterplay. But unlike Kat, Zyra has to deal with RNG; and unlike Illaoi, Zyra's plants are easily killed by accident and aren't immune to damage during ult. When the stars align, it's absolute bullshit. When 5 plants spawn and die before your ult can cast, it's a total dumpster fire.

I love how people still say that Zyra isn't a support even though she has been picked as one since her inception
