Mikaels is a great example of what skill expression in a support should be

Anyone who has ever played support knows that Mikaels active is very hard to use optimally especially in teamfights where so much stuff is going on that it's hard to keep track of your own champion let alone the positions and cc standings of all 5. Mikaels offers a depth of skill expression to an enchanter support thats not really seen elswhere in their items. Mikaels also has the added benefit of being extremely rewarding to get off at the crucial moment in a teamfight when the enemy lulu polymorphed your adc and you insta-cleansed it winning you the teamfight. mikaels is rewarding fun and hard to use and i love the item personally.

I would like to see items that allow more skill expression with their actives instead of stat sticks with ardent censer.

A shame the items sucks after they removed the heal component and nerfed the stats/passive.

The CD is too long on Mikael's, especially because it can be used on someone who isn't CC'd (accidentally or not) and thus be completely wasted.

Then you realize you can simply click the portrait on the side to make sure you never misuse Mikeals or any actives on allies.

I hate Mikaels because I simply have too much actives

I don't think every support skill should be activating an item. I'd be ok with having fewer support items with activate abilities.

I disagree, it's an active item. Skill expression should be part of the individual champions' kits. Its rewards should scale with items.

would love if supports had an equivalent of Force staff from dota in league

this shit has an infinity skill ceilling

maybe they can remove the selfdash to prevent abuses from sololaners

Mikael's is basically a shittier version of QSS, if anything.

For reference, its CD is almost twice of that of QSS's, and it doesn't even remove suppressions, while a QSS can.

If its active CD were to be lowered, I would actually consider it not completely shitty. In comparison of how powerful Ardent Censer and Redemption are, there's not much reason for any support to build Mikael's at all.

On a side note, it IS powerful when used correctly, but isn't really mandatory to win. Your ADC most of the time knows better when to use QSS anyways, or hopefully...

I like Mikaels but hate that I rarely get to use it because the prevalence of knock-ups makes it worthless half the time. :(

While i agree, there are other active items like mikaels that are also good examples. Like Face of the Mountain, or Zekes take a bit, Redemption while a good teamfight utility, if not used MID teamfight can be a bit harder than other items.

Sure there are slightly easier ones like Talisman or Knights Vow.

However one thing i want to stress is not ALL of Supports difficulty should be in Active Items. Tanks Especially suffer from this. If all you have are actives their stats will be lower as such because of the actives. And while enchanters dont need to be on the front line, tank supports do. Enchanters could use more HASP too. Supports can use stat-stick items catered to them too. Ardent is a bit overtuned right now but with a nerf here and there (i dont actually know if the current nerf changed much but it mightve) having a stat-stick item is fine.

What do you think of this?

Enjutsu8/25/2017, 7:22:07 AM2 votes

First off, the amount of skill required to use it is huge in comparison to ANY other item. It's basiclly Azir of items. Pros can use it, but for the majority of the playerbase it's not viable. This in turns creates another issue: casual players does't know how to support so he coppys some pro build, which includes this item, fail to use it effectivly, feels like as support he doesnt do anything and drops the role. I see this item built on low elo supports quite often and i honestly doubt they can use it, this item is probably partly at fault for the low number of support players. lastly it has simply bad stats(most likely to compensate for the active).

I actually don't like the item, i think it's a horrible item.

Fun fact. item 3222 does not grant assists (from LoL.wiki, might have been updated).

Myb it could also remove GW?

Which is why i wear 4 (+ Sighstone) actives as Janna because fuck the afk shielders that give her a bad name!

Cowseed8/25/2017, 8:16:17 PM1 votes

Funny how we move away from that to the a heal with the biggest area of effect in the game and a massive heal in itself that can be casted while dead.

Just an interesting thing that crossed my mind.

Opheriaux8/24/2017, 11:30:03 PM1 votes

(psst, just update the icon and people will buy mikaels, it isnt a bad item)

EX Machina8/25/2017, 12:32:57 AM1 votes

besides the Mikaels active to be a qss and it's 20% heal & shield power, having the forbidden idol trio together item 3504 item 3222 item 3107 gives a whooping 40% Heal & Shield Power. umping the effects of heals and shields. [zombie-brand-facepalm]

TryMucinex8/24/2017, 7:11:04 PM1 votes

Eh, just wondering. Is item 3222 really able to cleanse Polymorph? People often think it works on suppression and blinds, you know. Making sure this isn't another case. o.o

Mister Dark8/25/2017, 3:10:40 AM1 votes

Too bad no one ever used it lol, prob least used item in the game

Ok sure but why8/26/2017, 12:18:54 AM1 votes
