Making the best of CertainlyT's Mordekaiser Rework.

My idea on how to make the best of the rework?

  1. Make his W self-castable/castable on minions. Add back the Armor and MR boost. To promote team-play and bot-Morde, add a buff to the healing, damage, and defense the closer he is to an ally, but make it so that he doesn't have to be holding hands with an ally or minion to have any benefit period. That way, there is an incentive to going bot or putting him closer to the head of a minion wave, in that your W can keep you in lane even longer than normal with the healing it gives. This creates choice in Morde's play, not just in bot lane but in team fights: does he stick close to a teammate to keep them safe but risk putting himself in danger if things go wrong, or does he hang back for his own safety at the risk of leaving a vulnerable ally out with no back-up? Remove the xp boost from the W, it's gimmicky and limits the best support champs for Morde at bot to non-Relic Shield engage tanks like Blitzcrank or Thresh.

  2. Level out the Q's damage a bit. I really love T's idea to be honest for the Q, and I enjoy the whole ramping up the damage with the Q, but I shouldn't have to feel like the damage to my Q is worthless save on the third hit. Lower the damage a bit overall, average out the ramping up a bit. CertainlyT actually addressed one of Morde's issues: leveling out his consistent damage. I think Morde's Q should be more consistent with the damage output, and add a bit of splash damage like Tiamat on-hit like the old Q, to give him a bit of his wave clear back. That way, single-target damage Mordekaiser and wave-clear Mordekaiser can be best friends.

  3. Increase the range on his E a bit more, maybe reduce the damage the farther out it is from Mordekaiser to compensate? This would encourage Morde to get closer to his foes to maximize damage, rather than be a poke-based champion. Keep the AD and AP ratios so that early game Morde can go AD at first for Hextech Gunblade if he goes bot lane for the harder push.

  4. I think one thing we have never considered is what else Mordekaiser could do with his ghost, besides use it as a pet. I think there should be an option to allow Mordekaiser to self-cast with his R, to allow him to consume his ghost to empower himself temporarily. In return for losing the ghost, he could use the ghost to heal himself and empower his stats.

I will not lie and say that shoehorning Morde to bot lane alone is not the greatest of CertainlyT's ideas, but his ideas have more merit than most give him credit for, and the rework just requires a bit of tweaking. And for all we know, we can see Mordekaiser and Sona together in lane together, as they always were meant to. Also, the ideas I presented are meant to make Morde tanky in the sense of active and intent-based damage mitigation like Yasuo, in that he is actually quite fragile and requires the very thoughtful use of his abilities to maximize what defense he has.

As i was recalling, my Rumble ghost would randomly stop attacking minions to come back to me.

Can we fucking fix the Ghost's AI already? Holy shit

Well, on the topic of the ghost, what do you think of the R change? Would you enjoy maybe consuming the ghost to get a boost to your stats, if getting a Rumble Ghost then consuming it for a boost to maybe your AP?

That was one of the things i suggested on the Feedback thread, at least for the Dragon ghost.

A big issue with the dragon is that by the time mid-game comes, the enemy's relevant targets are far stronger than Dragon, and thus, would make better pets. This means that, when the game is at this point, Mordekaiser is punished for helping his team take dragon since he can not ult while it is active. Allowing him to consume the pet and get bonuses for the ghost's remaining duration would alliviate this issue.

Another idea i had was allow Mordekaiser to cast his Ultimate while he has Dragon, but if the target dies, him (Or dragon) would get empowered instead of another ghost.

Or maybe... (gasps) Mordekaiser can mount his ghost dragon and use it to increase his move speed and cross over terrain?
