The Problem with ARAMS

The problem with ARAMs is that they are not completely random. Players are forced to create 'ARAM only' accounts so they can play the champions they want. Even the re-roll system makes for a not completely random environment and the ability to swap champions is basically a super limited blind pick. At least when there were bans there was a way to help limit the insane op champion pool or just ban something you didn't feel like playing against. Riot have recent said that they were seeing too many of the same champs banned (what did you actually think was going to happen??) which makes sense. They also said it took away from the 'chill' environment for casual players (you mean the ARAM only accounts?). I thought it was a ton more chill having bans and not having to worry about this or that champion.

Here's my list of suggestions:

  1. Remove re-rolls and champion swapping.
  2. Open up the entire champion pool and let any lvl account play.
  3. Remove free champion pool from ARAM because of #2 (it felt weighted anyway).
  4. If 1-3 are achieved keep bans out otherwise they should be put back in.

This would make the mode truly random, imo, and would be a lot more in line with when it was a custom game.

Every ARAM comp nowadays is like LCS tier synergy. The bench & rerolls have basically guaranteed a decent comp. ARAM was more fun when it was more random. I agree with your comment.

Great suggestions. I like the bans, but since they were removed the other stuff should be removed/added as well.
