Thoughts on using chat to track enemy cooldowns...
I was curious to know what everyone's thoughts are on using the chat to track summoner spell cooldowns.
For me, it feels really outdated. It feels like the game has UI tools to track these cooldowns, so having to resort to manually type out when an enemy spell is back up doesn't feel great to do.
In the context of a team constantly making decisions regarding macro play and rotations etc. it feels like these get lost in a sea of discussion when they really ought not to.
I thought that, in the same way that if we hover over an ally summoner spell or ping it it shows us how much time is left until it's up, could we have the same for enemies.
Now, I understand that people will have concerns that if an enemy uses a summoner spell out of vision, my team shouldn't know and I agree. So I had the suggestion that if an enemy uses a summoner spell within vision for my team, if my team pings the summoner spell that was used within 5 seconds of it being used, the game gives us a timer of that summoner spell.
At all times that my team doesn't know if the spell is on cooldown, hovering over it should simply show a "unknown if available" tooltip or something.
