Free Win in Series Not Appearing Properly

So after I failed my series from silver 1 to gold 5, I was struggling to get back. Today I finally got back to that series to find that my free win, which I was promised after failing it the first time. Is there any way to get it back or did the game just lie to me?

I'm not sure if that works for getting into a new tier I could be wrong though
