Hail of blades: http://prntscr.com/jdmsb7

lethal tempo: http://prntscr.com/jdmt0g

it seems that to me lthal tempo you get a huge amount of attack speed after time has passed whereas hail of blades is only 3 for the 1st 3 basic attacks.....? am i right? if so why would i want hail of blades over lethal tempo? especially since hail of blades is in the domination tree?

You're right, and everyone else is agreeing with you that Hail of Blades is a big pile of trash

Riot's intention was probably to help champs like RekSai Kindred Vayne Xayah Jax get an easy 3-proc to help their abilities, but the fact that the rune gives no damage of its own makes it much worse compared to Electrocute

Maybe they should add some on-hit damage for these 3 AAs to make it a bit stronger. If they did that, I wonder if that could be the new go to rune for Camille.....

I don't like her shooting fireballs at enemies, Hail of Blades sounds like something way more fitting for her. And getting the bonus AD from Domination could work out well.

Hail of Blades is like a burst keystone and procs instantly. Lethal Tempo takes 1.5 seconds after the first hit was already completed to proc before granting the buff (during which time, a Hail of Blades triple auto will have already been completed during an attack speed build), so HoB is infinitely better at the start of a fight (especially for Rengar, who is an auto-based assassin).

The keystone is there for frontloaded bursts of auto damage that Lethal Tempo would be useless for (like Rengar's infamous triple Q, should he execute it properly), but sucks for sustained damage output, which is where lethal tempo shines. The keystones, while they do have similar effects, have largely different purposes.

Plus, going domination gives you the added bonus having the full attack damage for the initial burst (assuming sorcery or inspiration is your secondary), which helps more than it hurts for the keystone itself.

The worst part is, Rengar's Triple Q is already an auto attack reset, which completely nullifies the purpose of that keystone in the first place

Even if it's already an auto attack reset, the animation itself still completes a bit faster, which is one of the reasons why Sword of the Divine (which this keystone would be if it had crit chance as well) was so strong on him in the past.

Just because they give similar stats doesn't mean they are the same. They proc differently and have different activation conditions. Lethal tempo activates when you attack someone, and will always uncap your attack speed no matter what it is. Hail of Blades activates and reactivates when OUT of combat. And it gives you bonus attack speed on next 3 autos only. Not only that but you can use it only if your attack speed doesn't exceed over 1.50. Also, on the side note some champions can use Hail Blades the way Lethal Tempo can't. Some Assasins or even adc's can use it or could simply be used as a good trading tool during the laning phase. I'll give it a try and see how it goes.

doesn't the tool tip say it lets you exceed the attack speed limit? lol

Wrong. It says it exceeds attack apeed if your attack speed is not higher than 1.50 attack speed. Re-read it again please, thanks.

Wrong. It says that no more than 1.5 second can pass between auto attacks or the effect will end. In other words, once you activate the rune you cannot just auto attack once and still have the bonus 5 minutes later for the other two autos if you don't auto attack at all but stay in combat. You re-read it again please, thanks.

Which is something I said. Downvoting doesn't approve your arrogance either. :)

That isn't what you said tho. You're wording is very confusing in your original post. The part where it used to say " autos cannot exceed 1.5 seconds (2 seconds now) apart" relates to the time between attacks, not attack speed per se.

Double post, my bad.

Hail of Blades is supposed to be front-loaded AS, Tempo is supposed to be backloaded.

Lethal tempo takes 1.5s to activate, making it near worthless (1.5s is a long time to wait)

Is this any champion or per champion? Can you get 15 autos if you use 3 autos on 5 different champions?

It states "a champion" in the basic tooltip but in the advanced one it says "champions" instead.
