Looking for help, what can I do against Stealth/Camouflage?

Hello everyone and hope you're doing well, I'm a Jhin main and lately I've come to the realization that Stealth/Camouflage might just lack the required counterplay. I didn't know wether it was me being a salty Pringle or if anyone else shared this thought with me. So in hopes to get an answer I've come to the boards to see what people think about Stealth/Camouflage and if anyone has some tips on how to deal with it.

I recently played a game where the mere presence of the enemy Shaco on the map zoned me way too hard, this also happens with Rengar , Evelynn , etc... any character that plays around ambushes through stealth in order to kill you in 0.6 seconds (not joking here). There is also the fact that Jhin 's traps do not reveal stealthed Champions even though the description of the ability clearly states that it reveals champions that trigger/step on the trap/slow zone. item 2055 and item 3364 do not reveal Champions under Stealth only giving a brief and delayed outline that cannot be targetted in any way, resulting in the same guessing work with or without the use of the item. I believe item 2055 reveals camouflaged Champions which is something at least. This is just about the extent of counterplay I've seen so far.

I believe that i should be rewarded for hitting a champion with CC while invisible, or by placing traps in order to prevent unwanted situation, so to reward awarness and caution. Stealth/Camouflage feels way to strong and whatever I do it feels like it's completely out of my hands, that my fate is sealed since day one.

I'm open to learn something here and I sincerely hope that I'm wrong and that there is some counterplay to it. Thank you all in advance.

  1. Your team needs wards on the enemy jungler's paths so you can see which side of the jungle they are on. Against Evelynn after lvl 6 you need wards on her camps so you can see when she exits camouflage to clear them, against anybody else though you can just keep major pathways warded. As long as your wards are deep enough the enemy jungler will likely walk over them before they get close enough to think they should stealth.

  2. Pay attention to when any other lanes or wards spot the enemy jungler on the map. If you see them gank top-lane then you know that it will be at least 30 seconds before they could come bot and you can thus play much more aggressively without fear of being ganked. Anytime you know where they are, that gives you info about where they aren't, both before and after you spot them, for a significant stretch of time.

  3. With Jhin you can place your traps deep enough and on major pathways (like at the edge of corners that are the shortest path to you) that enemies will step on them before they are close enough to gank. As long as you keep half-an-eye on your traps to see if any of them pop then you will be able to tell if a gank is coming with much more certainty.

You need to ward enemy jungle camps with your support. When you see the jungler gank topside/take rift/back somewhere head in and place a ward in the blue buff bush/the bush in front of red buff, in the corner where it can see the buff. This will let you know when the jungler is walking through the area around you, so you know when the gank is going to come and can play appropriately safe.

Your jungler needs to invade the enemy jg to try to find them and ping them for you (they dont have to fight them, just spot them). Also your jungler should be warding enemy jg camps. Evelynn doesn't get perma-camou until lv 6 and even when she does, she loses camou upon using an attack/ability, which she will do in order to clear her own jg and the ward will spot her.

Also, Jhin's traps are akin to normal sight (like putting a ward in a brush), not True Sight so that's why they don't "reveal" stealthed champions, but if they run over your trap, your trap will still trigger, and that should give you an idea where they are if you have good trap placements and awareness.

Your traps do give vision, if the enemy steps on them though. If they just walk around them though, they are the same as a standard ward.

As ADC, I highly recommend having a control ward on you at all times vs stealth assassins, especially as Jhin. You can drop your Control ward in a big area and then Ult, then if an Eve, Twitch, Pyke, or Rengar tries to sneak up on you, you might be able to cancel your ult in time to dodge them.

VS Shaco with Invisibility, try to drop your trap behind yourself before you ult, so that he has to step on it to backstab you. That slow might be enough to save you, or at least give you something to snare off of. For Talon and Kha you just have to hope someone peels them off you, cause there's little you can do vs them unless they just run straight at you from vision. You can try to place traps around corners so hopefully they will trigger if running from fog, but with Talon being able to jump over a wall and then ult, it's hard to know where to place traps to stop him.
