OMG! Patch 7.4 is by far my favorite patch so far.

Before I start, I just wanted to say that I've been really patient with Riot. I'll be honest, I literally almost completely lost hope, quit, and uninstalled League of Legends. I knew deep down that Riot wouldn't succumb into other gaming companies where all they cared about was money and what a majority of the community doesn't want. I'm so glad they'd actually take the time and look at their game and seeing how it influences their player base and not just doing what's best for them.

Now that I have that over with, this is what I really loved what you did with this patch.

I. Cho'gath

I used to play him as an AP carry in the mid lane because I felt that he didn't really influence tank items as much. He could easily die from other champions and would completely top gaining stacks when he reached his cap. Now he doesn't lose stacks when he dies and I can now build tanky items without the loss of his health when I die. ** II. Katarina's Base Magic Resist**

THIS, OH BOY, THIS. ROFL! I WAS WAITING FOR THIS TO HAPPEN FOR A LONG TIME! I've been struggling playing against Katarina, mainly because of her stupid daggers. If you're on top of one of her daggers and she blinks to it, you can't keep up with her because she always starts with boots. Then when I wind up DO dealing damage to her, she takes twice as less health as she does to me. I sometimes wind up having to 1v1 her at level 3 and I have 200 health while she has less than 20 and I die instantly. It was complete bullshit.

III. Bard

I main Bard mid so getting back to lane with meeps is faster, thanks.

IV. Corki

I do admit the changes were to take away that strong win rate, but I don't see the problem with it. His spammable "ult" gave him too much poke for the amount of mana you spend for it, especially with the old 100% AD scalings.

V. Lethality on Ghostblade

I think this one is bloody obvious.

VI. Tier 4 Masteries

I'm so glad I'm not taking 7.5 damage more damage to be 100-0'd from a fucking Quinn anymore. And really, the "new" season 7 bounty hunter was completely useless since you needed 4 kills to out-scale Doubled Edged Sword. I'm glad they changed it back.

VII. What is the matter with you! SAVAGE!

You really had to cut off Teemo and Kennen's fingers?

VIII. And last but not least...

The Corki nerfs along with the mastery nerfs put him in a worse state than before he got buffed. He's essentialyl gutted. If he needed a nerf for competitive, it was a minor one and not something that shits on him at every stage in the game. I have no clue what Riot is thinking with him. The nerf is going to gut him for sure. This is my only huge disagreement with their balance this patch.

Quit being so condescending. It was just his ultimate, that almost everybody misses 60% of the time anyway.

Edit: Besides, Corki has been nerfed several times in the past. People have learned to dealt with it.

I'm not being condescending. It was a completely misguided and poorly executed nerf. I even called it before the patch hit and said it would bring him to 47% winrate (exactly what he has now). It hurts both good and bad Corkis. It is NOT a minor nerf at all. It's a gutting. I have no doubt I would do a better job balancing Corki than Riot. I have almost always been correct regarding balance tuning. Corki needed a nerf but a minor one because he is hurt by the mastery changes too. If he were super broken, he'd have gotten pick/ban status in competitive and he'd have high ban rates in SQ. He did not. He was picked a lot but rarely banned. His winrate in SQ for mid was #10.

Dealing with bad balance is possible to an extent but this nerf is too harsh to make Corki ever a good pick on this patch. If you still do fine with him, it's probably because you are not playing at your true ELO (for example, Gold player playing with Silver opponents). That's just the truth of it. You will not see a single Corki in 7.5 LCS (once they realize how bad Corki is in 7.4). They were warned on PBE too. I think they are not aiming for actual balance. They just want to gut Corki so he isn't picked in 25% of games and rotate to a new FoTM. It's unfortunate but Riot's balance philosophy seems to be "change for the sake of change" and "rotate OPs" rather than actual objective balance. There is no way in hell Corki deserve a nerf of this magnitude (same goes for AP Kog last time he was nerfed). Some of their balance is just so obviously awful that it's almost certain they don't have any intention to correctly balance the game as their primary objective. There are just too many blatant examples of favoritism and gutting champions to rationally believe otherwise.

Corki mid was one of the most obnoxious things to go up against. The nerfs were more than justified.

If he actually turns out to be too weak he'll get buffed, but it's a plain joke that you think half a day to a day worth of stats is enough to determine if the nerf was too much.

Given his playrate, it's a pretty accurate indicator imo. Corki mid had damage and roam potential but no CC and mediocre late game scaling. Now, his late game is far worse (especially in siege situations) and his early is too. If he were really so obnoxious, he'd have gotten more than the tiny banrate he had. There were plenty of ways to play around him. But just like ADCs still don't tak a full MR page and scaling HP vs Ziggs or go Hexdrinker early... people fail to adapt. Here's what Corki needed. 20 base off his level 1 R but the damage eventually being the same as now by 16. Secondly, 5 more seconds CD increased on W. This would have brought him to a 49% winrate while still keeping him viable in all ELOs. It would reduce his lane pressure at 6 and make him much less safe if his W was blown. These changes would be infinitely superior to what Riot's balance team did. The funny thing is that these changes are so terribly thought out that they even hurt AP Corki builds. Corki hasn't even been going AP or even GB in his highest winrate builds but they kill an off build with this too. It reminds me of what they did to Kog all over again. Absolutely pathetically bad balance choices... and they wonder where the diversity is.

BTW: In Ziggs case, I wouldn't mind it if his passive damage vs turrets was lowered in exchange for a bit higher AP scaling on the 26 CD W. I think he's mediocre mid at best in high ELO (as even Shiphtur has said) while dominant bot for the first 25 minutes mostly because he typically takes the first turet advantage.

His banrate is no indicator as to how obnoxious he was.

We needed the 6 bans to ban the actual OP champions. Corki wasn't OP enough to warrant a ban over something like LB, Rengar, Kha'Zix, etc

Right, yet he needs to be completely gutted into the ground? Cute. It's also just not true. Yasuo hasn't been OP for a while now and people still ban him because of how obnoxious his WW can be among other things. The same would have happened to Corki if you were right - regardles of his strength. He is rarely banned when he's good and never banned when he's weak. Obnoxious champions are banned a decent amount regarldess of strength.

Yasuo isn't banned for his W, it's by far not the reason he gets banned.

He gets banned because it gets old VERY fast to deal with a hypermobile champion, one that can assassinate you no matter how far he is behind, in every single game.

I never said it was just his W but the point stands. Yasuo is NOT in a good spot now for ANY ELO or situation and he was also never that great in competitive. And again, you are competely ignoring the point and nitpicking for something I didn't even say. This isn't about Yasuo lmao.
