SOOO hard to get 20 champs for ranked now

Just...title. I just got this account to 30 and I must say, all the capsules and whatnot and games of the day do not even add up to enough to get 20 champions so I can jump into ranked. Im currently sitting at 16 after buying a bunch of 450s i will never even play and now im out of blue essence haha. The amount of blue essence you get compared to the old IP system is paltry and frankly leads me to believe riot is moving towards a more monetized system where you are strongly incentivized to pay money for champions because otherwise it would take an inordinate amount of time just to get a decent champ. Also, while cool, the loot box system is obnoxious in that its a random chance to get a champ fragment and the fragments "disenchant" for a discounted blue essence price. On the bright side, ill have a high as hell hidden MMR from normals once i do get the 20 champ requirement for ranked in about a year.

TLDR: Blue essence system sucks ass.

You know why it feels bad? Look at champion prices. There are more 4800 champions than there are 450/1350/3150 champions COMBINED, or if not then it's really close.

Honestly, that's the main issue with the champion economy. The 4800 price point is completely bloated because 4800s don't get their prices lowered often enough. IIRC, every three champion releases sees a 4800 drop in price, meanwhile every single release sees a 6300 drop to 4800.

It doesn't help either that a lot of the more fun/viable champions occupy the higher price points. The cheaper tiers tend to have the more clunky/outdated champions that are just waiting for their VGUs.

The false nastalgia is strong here. Does anyone remember the 10k -15k ip rune pages required in order to play competitively in ranked. I started late season 1 actually playing the game a bit. It took over two years for me to unlock all the champions playing like 4-5 games a day on average. I spent 1000+ dollars on the game, during that time I also purchased probably 20-30 champions with RP. All this bullshit about how the old system was so much faster is just that,bullshit.

Just farm 3v3s and ARAM until you hit 30, you'll get everything you need, then jump RIGHT into ranked and feed the opposite team, k. Everyone loves this so much, you'll be the hero of the Rift bruh.

its really not in fact, you should take that time to master 3 other champions before you try and jump into ranked.

Funny thing is, with the old system, by the time i had it lvl 30 i had more than 30 champions(and thats with having a modest amount of 6800 ones).

The old system i use to get 150+ a game that scaled with the duration of the game. This new system, i get around 300-400 per level amd i am not leveling often enough to make it worth its while. i mean even the daily win is less now.

It is really not that hard and I would LOVE for new lvl 30's to not jump straight into ranked. Unless they fix the matchmaking to where they have to start in bronze. I HATE getting new lvl 30's in my game. They have no clue how to Macro and lose the game.

By level 30 you will easily have enough blue essense to buy 20 champs assuming you buy mostly cheaper ones. The BE system makes buying new champs a lot quicker and easier than it was before.

Then it's a good concept to keep smurfs out of ranked for a while. If you can't get 20 champs for ranked then that's fine, it just means that if you're gonna have to invest more time and possibly money if you're wanting to smurf in ranked matches.

As far as new player experience goes, most likely they will take a lot of this down time before ranked to master and acquire champs they desire, if it means forfeiting the opportunity to climb the ladder in order to purchase a 6300 BE champ. Which is fine, not everyone who enters level 30 need to play ranked, to a newbie or casual players, it's an extraneous feature.

Is it a bad thing though. It means new players are taking longer to hit ranked and smurfs are just picking their 1 trick most of the time while getting the cheapest champs to kill the ranked requirement.

That was the point as to why Riot changed over to BE.

It was a Money Grab.

I was lvl 36? I think before I had the Shards and BE to get 20 champs.

It's easier than it's ever been. Even if you do nothing but turn all your shards into essence to buy champions directly from the store, you will unlock champions faster than the old IP system.

You simply have no idea what you are talking about.
