I never realized this until today. Riot bases their decisions with the aforementioned tiers, hoping that any changes made on the platinum level will sprinkle down to the rest of the bottom tiers. Considering all of this, what do you plats and diamond players think about DQ and solo queue?
Lazypeon1008 votesEh, I like the new champ select and think it could use some improvements. DQ is shit though. I'm normally not so blunt, but it's bad. DQ not only ruins the competitive environment by putting group with solo players togrther, but it has also actively discouraged me from playing with my friends.
Before DQ, I had a group of friends I played with on a ranked team. Our skill levels varied highly, so the ranked team gave us a way to play together competitively while being able to objectively see if we were improving as a team or not. Now I can't even play ranked with half of them, while the ohers I'm afraid of playing with because I don't want to ruin their rating or my own rating that I've worked hard for.
The premise of groups playing competitively with solo players is horrible :/.
Quick edit: Forgot to add, I'm plat, I've been plat every seasonsince S3, I hit D5 in S4 though I got demoted cause I don't believe I belonged there.

Sasogwa2 votesFuck DQ, I hate playing against organized premades when my champion pool is mainly splitpushers. Rioters made a point about DQ tho, it's slightly less toxic than soloQ (I mean pure flaming-related toxicity). Still, I don't like it. I hate that ranked teams were removed as well. Their discussion wasn't really clear on what was going to happen in diamond + cause of the long queues, but I think it's pretty clear they fucked up, they even admitted it but still enforced DQ.
xl Kirito lx1 votesRiot kind of has to build like that though. If you balance the game around bronze, then every other teir becomes unbalanced due to the skill difference. Take Azir for example. If the system was balanced around bronze, he'd be buffed consistently. Which, when you got past G5&B, would be horrid for balancing.

Zerolocke1 votesTo me 100% the same, it really changes nothing even for plat players. I have been on the bad side of things, worst case was team of 4 upper gold players vs 4 upper plat players. I took my -16 lp then just won next game. I think people tend to forget that this is a team game, even myself included. Like comment above say skill is only by proving in solo. Well that is 100% bs, showing good team work is apart of that game just because 5 people are together does not mean they know how to work together.
I did feel bad for high end players that face lcs teams as a 5 man stack. You odds of winning are so much lower.
MOBA have always had team entering queue, so I do not see why people are this upset about it. I have to agree most are really looking just trying to pass blame.

I'm not really a fan of dynamic queue since I primarily play solo. However, I'm not really at a level where it becomes a major issue.
If I could see which players on the enemy team were premade, I wouldn't really mind it.
jaymc11301 votesDQ should not exist. We've been saying it since December. All over these boards and occasionally on Reddit. We recognized immediately the huge number of issues this type of queue would cause and were open, adamant, and vocal about its serious flaws and it's effect on the competitive integrity ladder.
It didn't matter one bit. Riot doesn't listen to us. They don't listen to you. They don't give a shit about the playerbase, just your wallet. This has been true for years, it's not changing now. You either choose to accept this and still play (hopefully without ever purchasing rp, your sole form of protest) or you quit and find a game that's actually good to play.
