That every time I log in, they've managed to change the client and make it load even slower. I've never seen a game's client progressively get worse and worse as they make billions of dollars over a decade. I'm not even mad, it's kind of amazing.

Wrong answer. The correct one is that Riot listens to the playerbase and deciphers what they actually want. You want urf back? Gotcha paid achievements incoming. Better client that runs on working code instead of hopes and prayer? Gotcha, we made a repair client that runs poorly and won't fix your game.
