What's with the flood of "Veigar rework was good"

Did everybody forget why he was reworked in the first place? They got rid of Deathfire Grasp, his core burst item, so they were going to give him a bit of a kick in the right direction for more damage and whatnot? Instead they made his damage weaker, and more unreliable.

Sure, the stacking is awesome, I love it too, but even if I'm getting say 90-125 more AP from the Q passive, if not more, it doesn't really justify nerfing his ultimate by .2 AP, making his E super unreliable and anybody with a brain can dodge it if not trapped between walls, and since the E is unreliable, it's harder to hit his Dark Matter as well.

I still play Veigar and I enjoy the Q rework, but overall he doesn't have the feel he used to. Also, he doesn't laugh on kill anymore q.q

they got rid of dfg because riot didn't want a mage being played like a assassin, thats why ahri got her rework to so she would be played more like a mage, the item in general was just cancer so it was remove not only for veigar sake but for some others like syndra. his e got hit hard because veigar support came about, their was many times where my e would of hit on the veigar but what can you do, its still very useful though, you just need to aim a little further in and with the higher range it shouldn't be that big of a difference, i still catch plenty of people, and it still wins us team fights.

but that is what ahri was she was an Assassin that literally says it in her class and people still bitch about her just because she's now a kite mage that just pokes you down

riot thinks otherwise, and besides the change was seen at first as a nerf, when it was actually a buff, it postively affected her win rate and i think their were some nerfs in the patches following

I main veig mid now. It isn't his ult that makes him so strong or his q. His E is perfect for the tank/bruiser meta. You can lock down carries or keep tanks away. When pushing towers with team it makes them unstoppable. Also, i avg about 200-300 extra AP a game because of his q and usually end games with about 1200 ap even though i build for more cdr so i can use his E every few seconds.

as i have to repeat in every veigar thread, his Q stacking is not better, he is still caped out at 6AP per wave, 8 with cannon minion.

his Q CD was increased, making veigar use auto attack early and PUSH THE WAVE, in order to get 2 ap at once with his Q, or risk missing 1 or 2 depending on Q. this was the same as before, as Q had a lesser CD.

however old veigar could get full 6 AP per wave with rank 3 in Q and a codex, thats all he needed and he could do it if he wanted to.

except now other casters can stand behind 2 minions and veigar suddenly cant harass, veigar had the option to Q farm or harass. that was taken away.

TL;DR Q stacking is easier in the late game for players who dont want to freeze the wave. and just want to group already. but harder earlier and more taxing early.

(if you dont understand how dangerous it is for veigar to push the wave, you dont play veigar enough to know what happens when a jungler sees an immobile squishy up on their turret)

I'm aware of the total change, they just added the ability to poke target champion if you're good with skillshots and positioning, and they added more range, which gives him a bit more safety in lane, however, you're screwed even more if somebody dives you now.

Also, overall, while the amount hasn't changed, the ease of access and mana consumption has changed, so it's easier to get more AP of a long period of time. Still doesn't justify the reliability/damage nerf.

its not a question of "how good you are with it" he simply cant, because good players utilize line of sight, and keep minions in front of them, and now veigar just had is only poke ability removed, and any attempt at using auto attacks results in a trade of AA from veigar, vs AA and an ability from an enemy mid laner, gee, with veigars horrendous health pool i wonder who wins that trade.

veigar wants to clear the wave? let him just push, and ill freeze it at my turret, and wait for a gank, free 300g for someone. veigar is trash tier, just ask bjergsen, faker, pobelter, scarra, dabox who have all stopped using him. (faker rarely plays him, and at best goes 1-1 with him).

veigar used to be played as a counterpick, now hes ignored by all the top tier players because he can not playmake by himself.
