Nasus verses Shen

So recently ive been playing nasus (like 4 games), and I see me doing really well with him a lot. but I just versed a shen.....aaaand well. it was a fuck me moment. granted the jinx was 0/13 or somthin and that didn't help but with that aside. I coudkbnt do shit against him.... was kinda depressing. I tried several different things against this guy. here's my thought process and my thought response after executing the thought process -I can ignore shen he donst do much damage early game just like every other champ I face, farming should be eas-cant fucken farm easily... -Then I can just farm under towe-cant fucken do it cause he is just standing there waiting for the turret to push out..... -alright I can probably still trade with him so far my stacks arnt too behind at this point-cant fucken trade with him that shield is annoying.... -k I guess I can ask for a gan-well shaco verses the shen..... ill try it "hey shaco come gank top pls" "okay"- shen gets a double...... -can I poke the tank down?-obviously not.... -hey look he tower dives me at lvl 7 I can fight hi-kills me then gets out even with the wither in effect..... -k ill try just uber passive farmi- taunt disables me from getting more than 80 stacks............... -can I dodge the taun-nope.... -can i avoid i-nope... -can i ignore i-nope that was decided earlier......

so my question is what can i do about shen. im sure some nasus main out there has dealt with one and nobody is tellin me he counters me even with me asking them directly if he does that. so there has to be a way to deal withem and i want to know how. thanks for the help! <3

  • You don't have runes for Nasus (or for anyone, but that's a different thread)
  • The masteries you used for Nasus are not Nasus masteries
  • Doran's Shield is a terrible item. Start with Cloth + 4, or Null + 1 if you're desperate (though for Shen you should be fine with the armor).
  • You didn't get far enough, but Trinity Force is pointless except in very few situations. If you want Spellblade, get Frozen Fist. There is almost always enough physical damage to justify it. Also, since you were having problems with Shen, your first item should have been Spirit Visage.
  • Also, going by your other Nasus matches, your build in general is not very good.

You never build a trinity force with nasus first. Build the TriForce 2nd, but always go with a defensive item for whoever you're versing. (Magic Resist or Armor, I usually go with Frozen Heart for Armor and Spirit Visage for MR)

Shen... is strong early? Did he get some buff, or does he just require skill? I remember wrecking a Shen top with Rek'Sai when Rek'Sai was fairly new...

If you run a normal nasus build and masteries in my opionion would be the following.

  1. Dont go all the way under your turret try to freeze the lane to were if shen chooses to go in on you he gets the turret agro for extra dmg.

YOu wont be able to trade with him tell abotu 10-11 when your stacks are high enough to do good dmg to him. Other then that theres not much you can do that you already didnt do.

your on the right path slow play slow play build stacks then when the times right you can take him.

let me explain toplane to you: some champions are naturally stronger than others and if the stronger champion doesnt happen to make grave mistakes or you get alot of help from your team, that champion will always be stronger than yours and the difference in strength will grow.

nasus is probably one of the weakest champions in the entire game and unless you can stack your Q and farm for 15 minutes, he cant beat shit. this being said, "just farming" isnt something you can do, its something you have to fight for and if your champion is too weak to fight, hes not viable.

shen is one of the strongest earlygame champions who happens to have decent scaling so as nasus, you shouldnt have the slightest chance. thats life. start playing good champions.

What Runes and Masteries were you useing? Build path ect?

I decided to look up your match history and found the recent one where it was 21 minutes long and you went 0/4/0.

Look at what you built, you started with a dorans shield(thats fine) but then you started rushing a trinity force...thats why you lost. You should have rushed a spirit visage instead. then build a glacial shroud.

never rush a trinity on Nasus, but rather focus on getting more health, cool down reduction and resistances.
