Looking for advice (ADC)

So I'm looking for some tips or advice. I am a player that excels in team fighting skirmishing and split pushing. I haven't run in to many players that are around my MMR(ELO) that can outplay me more often then they lose. My Question to you all is as fallows. I have a bad laneing phase, my cs/m is avg at best and i don't really understand wave management. Should i focus and play adcs that can cover that weakness with their kits like and ? Or should i play a champions like that carry much harder and do well when fighting. I'm open to suggestions. Please leave any feedback.
