How do you beat Jayce in lane?

I see him every game and no matter how safely I try to play, no matter how many times the jungler ganks, it doesn't matter because Jayce gets fed and wins the game. @.@

i've actually tried that yesterday. i went panth against a jayce but i couldnt seem to trade well (i dont play panth too often.) tips?

start corrupting and just poke with Q and that's it. i also play panth with exhaust which negates Jayce's burst since i got ulti to gank lanes. And yeh use your ultimate to help snowball the game cause you fall off altho panth usually falls off post 4 items the games end around 26mins atm aka the 3item spikes.

The reason panth works is because he can poke from afar/farm from afar/and block a lot of autoattacks with his Aegis.

yea, whenever he AA'd me in ranged form, i shot a Q back and the aegis did help. his EQ combo just does chunks. lol

Early sustain and armor can be huge boons against Jayce. It is never an easy matchup because he has so much versatility but from what I have learned is you want to punish him while he is trying to melee minions. He doesn't have the best mana regen and his mana can run out REALLY fast because he has so many abilities. He can get the mana back when in hammer form and that is when you want to start punishing him because it is harder for him to combo you well from melee into range instead of ranged into hammer. My suggestion is try to work inside your minions and when he goes to get mana back with hammer form trade with him. He will likely just knock you away but you prevent him from getting mana back and cost him more.

Those are the ones you should look to prioritize to pick/ban.

You don't beat him in lane -- you play someone who can farm from range, grab exhaust and avoid engaging him and exhaust him if he jumps on you. His whole lethality build makes him scale pretty terribly in the late game which is what you're aiming for. A Jayce needs to get several kills in lane or he's essentially lost it.

That being said; he's getting nerfed.

Burst mages that can poke and cc deal with him really well - problem is they don't scale into late game like he does - he becomes an absolute carry pick. You want someone who can reliably poke him out of lane without being @ risk for his poke. And once he gets in close, can CC him out of his damage. That's the goal.
