Champion Mastery Points Should Increase Damage Dealt

Ever since the introduction of mastery points, they haven't served much of a purpose other than bragging rights and flashy emotes. However, I suggest a change that would cause mastery points to be more relevant in terms of actually effecting gameplay. Now, I don't know what the exact numbers would be, but here's what I suggest.

For every 5000 mastery points on the champion you're playing, you deal 1% increased damage. This wouldn't be too game breaking but would provide a nice benefit for those who play the same champion often. To put the number into perspective, for every 100k mastery points on a champion, you would deal 20% increased damage.

Time to just spam Xerath or any other long range champion to the point where When I land one skill shot level 1 I get first blood. Seem slick a great balance change IMO.

Firstly, this just encourages picking a single main and spamming them.

Secondly, this destroys game balance.

Thirdly, some people already have over 1 million master points on some champions.

Fourthly, this is a hard penalty to anyone who can't play often.

Fifthly, it's simply not fun for anyone -- you're already rewarded for playing a champion by having a better knowledge of them. You don't also need a mathematical edge.

Sixth, 20% is not "not too game breaking" -- it's INSANELY game-breaking.

Oh wait, that's a terrible idea. It promotes one tricking champions, and imagine High damage champs getting a 100% boost in damage since they have half a million mastery points. That would REALLY break this game.

Gameplay effects you say?

How about this: Your mastery emote now costs health to use. 50 for rank 5, 100 for rank 6, 200 for rank 7. Oh the cost also doubles everytime it is used, indefinitely :).

When we hopefully get more mastery ranks I would love it if the highest rank emote has something to do with your number of mastery points. Nothing like rubbing salt in a wound by telling your opponent you one trick that champion.
