I like to win playing nontraditional meta. Yet so many people are stuck on the idea of it. Luckily I have a club for people who like to play non meta. Yet I feel bad for all the new players who want to think outside a box and are harassed for it.

There is also a difference between playing "off-meta" and playing Syndra support because you're being a baby and got autofilled.
I love playing Tanklesticks. I rekt shit with tanklesticks lol. Difference is I practiced it and I'm not a hurr durr.
Sadly I don't think the game will ever reach a point were most players or even 40% are okay with off meta. :/
Most of the player base is too competitive for that and really only want to see what everyone considers top tier picks. x.x;;
Just playing to win is not enough, you must pick the absolute best thing regardless of fun. x.x;; Anything less is 'trolling'.
There will almost never be a state where every champion is equally usable. It's just common sense that there will always be optimal choices.
But I do agree that there needs to be pro activity to buff and nerf certain champs in an effort to make the difference as slim as possible.
The only way to get more people to play off meta would be for an off meta pick to become popular (thus inherently making it meta) Such as Ziggs APC bot or Malzahar support.
Another way would be for a meta to be broken and essentially resetting. This is unlikely as this game has kept the standard duo bot, 1 mid, 1 jungle, 1 top meta since season 1 I think. The best way for a meta shift would be an overall shift in items, exp, etc causing mass confusion on how to efficiently play the game again however even with this a meta would form after time. Should the jungle be impossible for a solo champion a duo jungle meta could form and say one half is harder it would enable the previously removed ADC or Support (Only lane that can have a player removed without being empty) would make it where the lane would either be an adc/support jungling and a support/adc solo laning.
Lastly with an off meta pick you will always encounter harassment. The best way to get over this is to simply mute/ignore the harassing player and play what you enjoy. Find a way you enjoy playing and stick with it friendo. Just know before picking something off meta be sure it could work such as say Heimer Support or AD Malzahar and not something like AP Riven (She lacks AP ratios).
