Tencent Holdings Limited and China's Social Credit Score League Tribunal?
Tencent a vast holding stockholder of Riot Games owes stocks as well in China which is progressively pushing a social credit score on its citizens. Its similar to the League Tribunal/honor system. The worse your honor the more limitations placed on your account (such as no free giveaways and not being able to play with your friends in certain featured game modes). The controversial social Credit Score in China backed by the government rates its citizens based on thing such is buying napkins and alcohol, then using that rating to determine the priority of train and airway tickets u can book etc. It even can affect your health services and travel limitation across the country. Now we saw quite a few posts of people being banned accidentally in League and the only thing in the chat log was maybe the words hi. So knowing how no system is perfect. Its surprising to come to the realization of the power brewing in riot games and its influence of such a major powerhouse such as Tencent. Riot is undeniable moderating the behavior of millions of youth probably even more so than their parents and collecting their social data just like our buddy Facebook. Although could this data be slipped into the hands of China's Social credit score? And if so could a player falsely reported in League thus lose their health coverage in China? What academic credentials do riot's employees have to punish the community of players here justly? Knowing riots growing influence over millions of youth are these credentials enough? Should employees have spiritual/religious/political/financial backing credentials as well? Yet here we are a community left in the dark as to exactly who presses the final button on who presses the button to ban players. Sure we know the tribunal exists but who mediates that? What credentials do they have? Of course, players are upset they get banned. But years later they come to terms and accept what they did wrong. Sometimes even less than that. But playing this game for 6 years the majority of the time I was penalized I found it to be unjust. Are there not many whom after years of thinking about it also came to such a conclusion? What makes riot employees so perfect in their judgment? What other stocks does Tencent have outside of riot? Perhaps its influence over youth goes beyond millions, perhaps its billions.
