Why do we still lose LP when someone DCs post-remake

So I just had a game where my dced at 3:30. She came to lane and even grabbed about 10 cs before she just left the game Nobody had died, nothing had gone wrong, and he queue partners didn't know why she left or if she was coming back. Why do I still have to lose some of my hard earned LP because someone leaves.

Ranked still broke in 2016

Because if you didn't this would be exploited to prevent friend accounts from losing LP when being boosted by a smurf who isn't worried about their LP or Account.

Is that any different than any other season ever? I mean... remake isn't designed for mid game DC's. This isn't a problem with 'ranked' as you want to think, but just the internet. Is WoW PvP 'broken' because someone can DC and then you are at a disadvantage by nature of the issue?
