Aren't ward skins detrimental?

Legit question, if you think about it if you sweep a bush and you see a Shurima ward, almost full in timer, it's probs safe to assume the Azir who's been spamming Shurima the entire game is near the bush and hence you should back off, or if you see three poro wards, it's safe to assume the braum's sightstone is dead. Arn't ward skins just extra information if used right?

.-.

I say this as someone with like 10 ward skins.

Or rik... it could be used the opposite way if you don't agree with it being revealing E.G. Azir might have popped a ward then left~

If you see the enemy jungle's ward in a bot bush, basicly brand new, or if you see it placed you see the skin your like, OK that dude is def bot, YO TOP LANE FEEL FREE TO TAKE THE DIVE NO WORRIES ABOUT THEIR JUNGLER COMING TO TURN!

It can be used the same as "Jungler top side, bot side"

Or even, when against a invade heavy team, I ward my own jungle before taking buffs/camps sometimes (Right before) If you see a ward near blue buff which is missing, and the ward is 30 seconds down, it's safe to assume blue has been killed in the last 25 seconds or so.

Just thoughts, opinions anyone?

I've thought about this too, and it can certainly offer certain insight if you manage to keep track of this.

Mostly though I don't think that information is really all that useful unless the ward is really fresh. Otherwise knowing that Lee Sin put a ward down in this bush 30 seconds ago doesn't mean anything. He could literally be on the other end of the map by the time you find it. Plus it's just extra work trying to memorize who puts down what ward from a game to game basis.

Mostly I would consider it irrelevant information. There are far better and easier things to read on the map than whose ward you found.

Not gonna lie, I've thought about this before, but honestly I basically never memorize who has which ward skin even though I should. 99% of the time it wouldn't matter and that 1% of the time where someone might put a ward from over a wall while you're in a bush, you have to ask yourself would you honestly remember in that split second which ward player was using that specific ward skin. For me it would be no, especially when events like the new Deathsworn ward or Star Guardian ward are around and multiple people are using the same thing.

I actually really hate some ward skins but I'm not sure which ones they are.

When you use oracle's over them they have a different look which sometimes resemble champions to me. I wish that Riot would look into making all ward shadows universal or giving them a different color from champions or SOMETHING. Maybe make them visible from outside the bush? I've literally flashed away from a ward shadow.

More on topic though, it can be additional information of who is nearby as you say. If you want to count Braum's wards, you can press tab and look at his sightstone if he has been seen recently.

Pretty sure you can just click on the ward and see who put it down, but yeah you're right, you get that info faster with ward skins

I feel this is completely intentional and I use it to its full effect. it's part of giving 'vision', no matter the ways that info reveals itself.

Learn to adapt, I guess? It's a great way to adjust to the flow of the game.

Huh, it's not common knowledge?

This idea has been burnt into my own head ever since ward skins became a thing. Or um... warding in general.

Unless I'm missing something.
